New coronavirus/vaccine discussion thread
My grandson had an issue with his penis from birth and had surgery to fix it. My daughter was worried that he had a micro-penis but it was simply a severe "Inny". She asked the asked the Asian Surgeon about the condition after surgery and he replied, "Don't worry mommy, I fix penis, your son pleasure many women"

He's already 25% larger than his grandfather.

"When I got out of the hospital, I had some erectile dysfunction issues. Those gradually got better with some medical attention, but I seem to be left with a lasting problem. My penis has shrunk," the man wrote in a letter to Slate's "How To Do It" podcast.

"Before I got sick, I was above average, not huge, but definitely bigger than normal. Now I've lost about an inch and a half and become decidedly less than average."

Dr. Ashley Winter, a urologist in Oregon, confirmed to the podcast hosts that "COVID d--- is like a real thing."

Multiple studies have linked COVID-19 to erectile dysfunction and other reproductive health issues.

An Italian study last year found that 28% of men who contracted COVID-19 experienced issues with erectile dysfunction, while only 9.33% of men who hadn't contracted COVID-19 experienced the same issue.

Researchers at the University of Miami found that the "widespread blood vessel dysfunction, or endothelial dysfunction, that results from the COVID-19 infection could then contribute to erectile dysfunction."

"In our pilot study, we found that men who previously did not complain of erectile dysfunction developed pretty severe erectile dysfunction after the onset of COVID-19 infection," Dr. Ranjith Ramasamy, associate professor and director of the University of Miami's Reproductive Urology Program, said about the results.

A group of doctors, the Urologists United for Vaccination Education, put out a PSA in October encouraging men to get vaccinated, saying that men who have had COVID-19 are six times more likely to experience erectile dysfunction.

"Studies have shown that COVID can affect the blood vessels of the penis in a similar way that it affects the blood vessels of the lungs, preventing them from providing enough blood to the penis to cause an erection, and leading to permanent impotence," the group writes.

For men who have already had COVID-19 and are experiencing erectile dysfunction, Dr. Winter suggested using medicine like Cialis or Viagra, or even using extension devices that can add back length.

"These are easy things you can do at home, to either prevent shortening or actually get back length that you've lost," she told the podcast hosts.
Well this proves that China made the virus, they wanted everyone else to have small peckers too

Arlington Republican Activist, Vaccine Skeptic Dies of COVID-19 Complications

“Our dear friend Kelly Canon lost her battle with pneumonia today. Kelly will be forever in our hearts as a loyal and beloved friend and Patriot,” the post read. “Gone way too soon. We will keep her family in our prayers.”

Canon was recently hospitalized for COVID-19-related pneumonia, one of the most serious complications of the virus. Canon said on Facebook in November that her employer granted her religious exemption request, so she would not be required to get a vaccine.

A month ago, Canon attended a symposium in Burleson dedicated to fighting vaccine mandates, according to her Facebook posts. Attendees included Dallas physician and vaccine skeptic Dr. Peter McCullough, who previously said on a Fox News show that thereâ€s “no clinical reason to go get vaccinated.”

Ummm, yeah… LOL!

Several siblings and nieces and nephews have come down with Omicron. Most were vaxxed but none boosted. They are done with the vaccinations as it is apparent it is useless.

The data would indicate the vaccines are far from useless.

She lives in an assisted living facility where they weren't allowing any outsiders in, but they were allowing residence to leave if they wanted to.  Apparently the other three women that she played bridge with also had Omicron. She was vaxed and boosted all with moderna. I'll be very curious to see how this plays out giving her age and heart situation.
It's running rampant everywhere right now, every ALF in the state seems to have an outbreak, mostly brought in by the staff, many that won't vaccinate. Was she symptomatic, we find about a third of the positive cases don't have symptoms. I would guess she does fine. Early on my village lost three out of four 80+ year old men that were legion regulars, one infected the other three and only one survived, tragic.(Before Vaccines)

Hopefully the children won't get this one locked by misbehaving, no more "I know you are but what am I".
I don't think they track R0 by variant, but I have to believe it would be considerably higher for Omicron than other variants.   I know 6x more people who have had covid in the last month than any time during the pandemic.  That's not an exaggeration.

This result was expected once people figured out that this thing is nothing more than something like an annual flu shot.  People arenâ€t doing this booster song and dance from here to eternity.

edit: apparently a clarification is in order. The result equaling people not lining up for boosters every N months, not vaxxed people getting Covid. That result was unexpected.

If they have mild symptoms that area short lived the vaccinations were terrific. Anything 72 hours or less is a grand slam.

We averaged 100 positive cases per day this week, up from our highest level of 65 at ;ast Winters peak, getting destroyed in our hospital and healthcare operations. Most of our factories have 25-30% out ill, it's nasty. Though at this rate we should cycle through in about a month or so.

I am finally scheduled to get my booster shot next Tuesday. It took four weeks to get it scheduled because so many of them "damn furriners" are trying to get vaxxed up right now.
I turn 65 in less than 5 weeks, I really don't want to get the virus, and if I do, at least (for the vast majority) the symptoms will be lighter. I already have an out-of-whack immune system, so I am not interested in tempting fate. I've already cheated death many times in my past, I need to be aware as I go forward to live life as best I can.
