K9Buck2 Corinthians 5:10
#1
What will we receive for the bad things that we have done?

2 Corinthians 5:10
English Standard Version
10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what is due for what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

First of all, this is not the Great White Throne Judgment in Revelations. Itâ€s not Heaven or Hell situation.
I have often heard this referred to as a “Reward ceremony”.
I donâ€t believe we receive anything bad per se, but that we may lose some of our reward.

Look at these verses in Matt and Mark…

41 “He who receives a prophet in the name of a prophet shall receive a prophetâ€s reward. And he who receives a righteous man in the name of a righteous man shall receive a righteous manâ€s reward.
42 And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.””
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭10:41-42‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

You would have to dive in and do a study on what is a Prophetâ€s reward and a Righteous Manâ€s Reward
Are those now? Or a future Reward??
But in verse 42 it clearly says “he shall by no means LOSE his reward”

41. “For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭9:41‬

Again he who does this shall not lose his reward.

These scripture clearly imply we can lose at least a part of our reward for our deeds done.
Compare that with this verse written by Paul

“Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.”
‭‭II Timothy‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

A part of Paulâ€s reward, and our too, is a crown of righteousness.

So this is not if you as a Follower of Jesus Christ do a “bad” thing your reward is Hell. This verse doesnâ€t have any thing to do with salvation.

Great explanation, Orbit, thank you.
