Bob is playing hot right now too. So is the team in general. You guys have a real good shot to make a run. I'll pull for ya now. Have nothing against the Jackets and Torts is hilarious.

This is the first time this has ever happened, correct?  Team with the most wins gets swept out of the first round?  Crazy.  If the Jackets keep this up I might have to pretend that I like hockey.   Big Grin

We donâ€t have any words and we know you donâ€t want to hear them.

We understand your anger, your frustration, your sadness. Everything youâ€re feeling – we get it.

This isnâ€t the ending we imagined, and certainly not the one we wanted. Thank you for being there the entire way.

They tied the 95-96 Red Wings for the most regular season wins ever in NHL history at 62. This is the first time a Presidents trophy (award for the best regular season team) winner ever got swept in the first round.

Start watching, learn the rules/some of the strategy and you will fall in love with hockey, I guarantee it. Especially playoff hockey. Best post season in professional sports. IMO the best of all sports, I put the NCAA bball tourney up there too, they just have a worse format.

Itâ€s not the first time itâ€s happened. But itâ€s the first time itâ€s happened to a team with that many wins. And add in the fact that the blue jackets have won exactly 2 playoff games In 20 years and itâ€s really stunning. A seven game series win would be remarkable enough.I wonder what the Vegas odds were of the blue jackets sweeping Tampa Bay

I have admittedly been a little too hard on hockey.  I think what it is for me is the back and forth.  Some people love that.  To me it's kind of monotonous and hypnotizing.  Soccer obviously gives off the same vibe.  Hockey does have azz kicking speed and physicality that soccer clearly doesn't though.

Oh I throw it at the NBA fans too. NHL regular season can get boring at points, NBA season is almost always boring. In the last 10 years or so the NBA has been really boring until the finals.

Playoff hockey is amazing. Go to a game, the crowds go nuts. The casual fans love the fights/scrums that happen after plays.

I found this funny from last night... dude is a 19 year old Russian who grew up idolizing fellow Russian Ovi. Ends up getting slept by his idol and then his brother threatened Ovi with payback for that fight lol.

There are other videos showing that right hook O. landed. Hell of a punch. Donâ€t see too many KOâ€s in hockey.

I'd like to protest the stickeying of a hockey thread. I didn't pay good money into this site to have lousy threads like hockey stickied.

Agree, been watching Hockey since Moe Bartolli was coaching here back in the 60's. the Columbus Seals / Checkers / Owls great minor league hockey entertainment .
when i was in HS 9th / 10th grade my mom would take us down to the Fairgrounds Coliseum and drop off me and 2-3 of my buddies to watch i believe it was the Checkers then . She had no idea how crazy minor league hockey was and the fans were even crazier. Fight everywhere even in the stands.
We had older guys offering us Cigars and cigarettes  and even snuck us a few beers in coke cups.

Well I haven't been watching that long lol. But live hockey is just amazing and as you mentioned minor league games can be a blast too. High Def has definitely made a huge difference for watching on TV, but it still doesn't compare to being there live... smelling the ice, hearing the sounds of the game, etc.

Two #1 seeds are about to get knocked out in round 1 unless the Flames have a huge comeback in the 3rd.

Flames are gone too. First time ever both number one seeds get knocked out in the first round, and it wasnâ€t even close in either series.
