While not a 911 operator, I have hung up on calls in my public capacity and will do so again if the need arises. I don't  have to be cursed at and my sexuality questioned while on the phone nor do I have to listen to people that are mentally ill tell me that their neighbor has trained crickets to spy on them. Those calls are fun for ten minutes but eventually you are wasting taxpayer resources if you don't disconnect.

Best part is not reacting to insults and then ending the call with, "God bless you and have a wonderful day"
Calling me a Bingo playing fish eater just broke my heart but if you tell me to go Blank my mom, that get's you disconnected.

This reminds me of a conversation I had with a friend who is a Plans Examiner for Cincinnati. People wanting to build things that were no where close to code and he would get these calls about conspiracies, neighbors spying on them, ghosts, and the angry ones using uncivil language. 

Now construction sites can get pretty heated and "creative" in the language used. Telling a contractor that they need to tear out work they just constructed because it's completely wrong always led to less than fruitful discussions. I always parked in a location away from where the contractors parked.

A parent at a school board meeting in Seminole County, Florida, told members that Covid vaccines were a “deep state conspiracy” and that scientists and the medical community wanted to “depopulate us”.

The comments, which were recorded and shared on social media at the weekend, came amid a meeting on whether or not to continue mandating masks for schools in the area, which has seen higher numbers of children with Covid than this time last year, according to Click Orlando.

Some 648,000 Americans have lost their lives to the coronavirus since it reached the United States early last year. Some states, including Florida, are seeing a massive uptick in cases and deaths because of the Delta variant.

Coleman had initially been charged with first-degree attempted murder before agreeing to a plea deal with prosecutors that included dropping the murder charge.

Convicted child molester Steven Matlak was sentenced to 40 years in prison Monday for sexually abusing six girls in 2017.


The 44-year-old Matlak of Fresno, who at one time was a trusted lawyer and friend, confessed to the victimâ€s family members that he lied and manipulated them to gain access to their children, all under the age of 10.

Detectives said the victims – all of whom knew Matlakâ€s daughter – have accused the attorney of touching them inappropriately.

Police arrest man, 32, for 'kicking woman down Brooklyn escalator'

A suspect believed to be the man caught on camera shoving a woman down a New York subway station escalator has been caught by cops.

Police arrested Bradley K. Hill, 32, on Friday and charged him with assault.

He was filmed with police Friday night, wearing a smart dark suit, opened necked shirt, Nike face mask and freshly-buzzed hair.

Police say on the afternoon of September 9 Hill kicked a woman down the escalator of the Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center station in Brooklyn, New York.

New Zealand Covid: Men caught smuggling KFC into lockdown-hit Auckland

NZ police have made a bizarre arrest after a pair of alleged gang associates were caught trying to enter Auckland with a boot full of KFC chicken and tens of thousands of dollars.

The men were charged with breaching the country's tough Covid-19 rules.

Under Auckland's strict Level 4 lockdown, all restaurants, including take-away services, remain closed.

Police said the men, aged 23 and 30, had travelled from Hamilton, about 75 miles south of Auckland.

A police spokesperson told the BBC that officers made the arrest after they noticed a suspicious looking vehicle travelling on a gravel road on the outskirts of the city.

"Upon seeing the police car, the vehicle did a u-turn and sped off trying to evade police," they said. "The vehicle was searched and police located the cash, alongside empty ounce bags and a large amount of takeaways."

Police photos showed at least three buckets of chicken, about 10 cups of coleslaw, a large package of fries, and four large bags containing other KFC items.

They also seized NZ$100,000 (US$70,000; £51,000) in cash.

It is unclear whether the men intended to sell the food or if they hoped to use it as a distraction if they were to be pulled over.
