The conscripts featured in the video from last October were recently discharged after completing six months in the military, according to the Bangkok Post.
Military conscription is mandatory in Thailand, with Thai men aged 21 and over subject to an annual lottery system where they draw a ‘red†card, meaning two years of service, or a ‘black†card, meaning an exemption. Alternatively, eligible draftees can request to volunteer to serve, in which case their service will be shortened.
Royal Thai Navy vice admiral Pokkrong Monthatphalin on Friday apologised to the conscripts and their families for the alleged abuse, claiming that the Navy has never had a policy of using violence as a means of punishing conscripts. But Thailandâ€s armed services have a chequered history when it comes to hazing rituals and the general abuse of cadets, recruits, and conscripts.
An infamous 2017 case saw a 19-year-old army recruit die of “sudden heart failure.†His body showed signs of severe physical abuse, and his family found many of his organs were missing when they collected the body.

“I tried that record a few times before officially breaking it, but I was still scared every time,†Rush said. “I was wearing a helmet, gloves, a heavy jacket, a neck brace and long pants, but I still felt vulnerable.â€
Guinness World Records set the minimum distance for the record at 32.8 feet, and Rush surpassed the target by walking 206 feet and 8 inches.

A Northern California police officer has been placed on leave over an allegation that he masturbated inside a family's home where he was dispatched for a disturbance as his department grapples with a series of recent controversies involving its personnel, authorities said.

On May 14, an Idaho man broke one of the oddest Guinness World Records out there by running a half-marathon while wearing more T-shirts than anyone else ever has. David Rush, who has broken more than 200 Guinness World Records so far, wore 111 T-shirts at YMCA Famous Idaho Potato Half Marathon, completing it in 2:47:55, 12 minutes under the three-hour time limit set by Guinness World Records.
The T-shirt half marathon record has now been transferred from one David to another David, to another David, as the previous record of 90 shirts was held by Edmonton†s  David Eliuk, at the Hypothermic Half Marathon in February. Before that, the record of 82 was set by British runner David Smith in November 2021.

Baby of 12-year-old girl who was raped by her own grandfather dies after she was refused an abortion
THE premature baby of a 12-year-old girl who was raped by her grandfather has died after the child was denied an abortion by her religious family.
The then-11-year old, fell pregnant after her 61-year old "grandfather" allegedly raped her.
The sexagenarian, her stepfather's parent, presumably committed the vicious act in the town of Chimore, in Cochabamba in the centre of Bolivia.
Not yet a teen, the girl is reported to have begged her family for an abortion, in a country where terminations up to eight weeks are only legal in cases of rape, incest or to protect a girl or woman's life.
However, doctors at the German Urquidi Maternal and Child Hospital in Cochabamba, where she was being seen, refused to carry out the procedure, claiming the girl was over the legal time limit.
The 11-year-old was six months pregnant at the time.
The family initially refused to agree to an abortion, but changed their mind, only after giving their written consent.
The family's decision change may have been influenced by the Catholic Church in Bolivia, which said "the only solution is to save, care for and lovingly support both lives".
News of the refusal to carry out life-saving abortion outraged the central American nation, with many urging the government to bring in reforms to the country's abortion laws.
It is this context that the young girl was forced to carry on with her risky pregnancy - due to her age and because the infant was a result of rape - against the wishes of the little girl's doctors and the judicial authorities.
Unable to carry her infant, the young victim's premature baby was delivered by emergency C-section in the 29th week of pregnancy.
Sadly, the baby who was born at six months fought hard to survive after it was placed in an incubator but died after four days, on Wednesday June 15.
"We are saying goodbye to Indigo, who is going to become our flag in the fight for life," the Secretary of Human Development, Jenny Rivero is quoted as saying by Red Uno.
"We promise to ask for justice for this case and we are going to always watch over the lives of these children who have no voice, who do not decide when they can come into the world - it happens in many cases."

60 Passengers Involved In Carnival Cruise Ship Brawl Over Alleged Threesome, Coast Guard Called For Backup
Whether youâ€re a cruise person or not, we can all agree that things got a bit out of hand on a recent Carnival Magic cruise ship returning to NYC from Dominica, Turks & Caicos, and the Bahamas.
According to MSN, up to 60 passengers were involved in a fight that broke out around 5:20am in a nightclub aboard the ship.
The cause?
A secret threesome that came to light. Apparently, two people in committed relationships snuck away for a little rendezvous with a third person and got down with some funky business.
But as the saying goes, three can keep a secret if two are dead, and the meet up came to light. Safe to say, the significant others didnâ€t appreciate the infidelity and the brawl began.
Beer bottles were thrown and one lady was cut in the face as the ruckus moved throughout the ship, starting on the 5th floor and ending on the first. Security intervened the best they could, but the ship did call for a Coast Guard escort back to port in case anything else happened.
Also, one of the security guards can be seen throwing soccer kicks at a downed person. I guess the heat of battle can make you do wild things, but man oh man that does not seem like the thing to do to bring back peace.
Now, is it okay for two people in committed relationships to cheat on a vacation? Of course not, especially while the other person is over playing shuffleboard or stuffing their face with a 4th trip to the buffet.
But getting in a 60-person brawl that makes the captain call in a military branch? I donâ€t know if thatâ€s the move either…
Doesnâ€t seem like a healthy relationship anyway and theyâ€d probably be better off calling it quits after this, but you never know…
They are Carnival Cruise people after all…

On a cruise, Iâ€m just getting up at 5:20. Night club problems.
We have started choosing other cruise lines. Carnival has become “too affordableâ€. 30 cruise status is hard to give up. But, since the restart, there has been an increase of less than desirable behavior. We only do specialty dining anymore and frequent a martini bar( although drink package brings in all kinds)
Since the restart we have done 4 Carnival and 2 Royal. We leave in 2 weeks on a Carnival, but itâ€s their new ship. So, hopefully it will be better.

Dog caught running with decapitated head in mouth through Mexican town
A dog was caught on video in Zacatecas, Mexico, running down the street with a human head hanging out of its mouth.
Alarming video clips shared to social media show the stray dog running down a dark street at night, holding the corpseâ€s head by the neck, likely taking it somewhere to eat the remains.
The head and other body parts were abandoned in an automatic teller booth in the town of Monte Escobedo on Wednesday, an unnamed law enforcement official told Fox News.
The body parts had been left with a message referring to a drug cartel, officials said.
The message, which was likely intended to intimidate rivals and authorities, was intercepted by the mischievous canine before police were able to recover it.
