Which of you refuse to be vaccinated and why, please?
#76
I thought the survival rate was well over 99% for people under 60 that aren't morbidly obese or have any other underlying health issues.  So yeah, Syncro's math is off.   Wink

Get the jab, don't get the jab.  Is (currently anyway) and should be up to the individual.

My stance on getting the vaccine aside, I have to admit that I'm a bit surprised that Covid is still this prominent in the news cycles after the widespread availability of the vaccine.  Can this please be over yet?

And the survival rate of the vaccine is almost incalculable it's so much lower than that. So yeah the math is off. Way off. Also that's just death. There are far more people damaged from a little to a lot that aren't in those numbers.
The reason you're still hearing about it is because there are so many unvaccinated and so many of them are getting sick. You wouldn't be if they were vaccinated.

Positive Covid tests?

Did anyone actually think there would not be more positive tests and Covid cases when every state removed their restrictions and people resumed normal activity?

The odd part is the bragging about Sarasota. Some of the greatest beaches in Florida. I know this, I've been there. White sand that is cool on your feet. It actually comes from your place in Kentucky 100's of years ago. The locals told me this.

Q: Which of you refuse to be vaccinated and why, please?
A: Because you enjoy Russian roulette?

Texas has seen nearly 9,000 COVID-19 deaths since February. All but 43 were unvaccinated people.
Preliminary data shows 99.5% of COVID-related deaths in Texas were among unvaccinated people, according to the Department of State Health Services.

Of the 8,787 people who have died in Texas due to COVID-19 since early February, at least 43 were fully vaccinated, the Texas Department of State Health Services said.

That means 99.5% of people who died due to COVID-19 in Texas from Feb. 8 to July 14 were unvaccinated, while 0.5% were the result of “breakthrough infections,” which DSHS defines as people who contracted the virus two weeks after being fully vaccinated.

The agency did not release details about the 43 deaths and noted that these are preliminary numbers, which could change because each case must be confirmed through public health investigations. Statewide, more than 50,000 people have died of COVID-19 since March 2020, but the rate of deaths has slowed dramatically since vaccines became widely available in April.

Did the agency release any details about the 8, 744 other than they werenâ€t vaccinated?

Likely healthier and younger than the vaccinated population because there are higher rates of vaccination among the older and riskier. But you'd probably have to do a deep dive. I'd guess you could find age and ethnicity at least.
At this time this year out of 160 million fully vaccinated breakthrough infections nationwide have resulted in 3733 hospitalizations and 791 deaths. So the overwhelming majority are in the unvaccinated. Also since we have enough to achieve herd immunity the breakthroughs came because of the unvaccinated as well otherwise they wouldn't have been exposed.

Not that I saw and I'm guessing 99.5% isn't not reflective of reality, but it also reinforces what we're already seeing for vaxxed vs unvaxxed.

In terms of effectiveness of vaccinations it doesn't matter, but yeah

Just heard a top-of-the-hour news piece that has to be absolute Babylon Bee material.  It has to be.  Ok, apparently there's a big Covid outbreak going on in Alabama, which is either thee or one of thee lowest vaccination rate states in the country, and the woman governor (don't recall her name) went off and blamed....   wait for it...  the unvaccinated!  She was furious.  Wow, no sh1t?  It's spreading among the unvaccinated?  Color me shocked.

Something is going on and I can't quite place my finger on it, but it obviously involves control.  If you can get the governor of Alabama to trash her own citizens, that doesn't sound like a person concerned with re-election (maybe she's termed out anyway?  Ala help me here) in any way, shape or form.  Why the concern over people that chose not to get vaccinated over something with a 98+% survival rate over the entire population, and a 99+% survival rate over people under something like 60?  Then I heard there's a cracking down on the number of new passports being doled out by the state dept on top of it  Confused

There's something more than concern over Covid going on.  I sense "they" are absolutely going for the gold.  We discussed in another thread how the Dems are going to likely get boat raced in the house next year, so maybe there's a connection???   I have no idea what the actual "gold" looks like here, but something is under way with this and it doesn't appear to be 100% medically motivated.   Dodgy

Herd immunity, herd shamunity...  I aint buying it as the big motivation.  Something is going on where they absolutely refuse to let this go.  i.e. full compliance and they would come up with something else/another excuse to clamp down, force compliance or something or another, etc...  This just stinks in a very loud way to me.

Guv'na Ivey(or Meemaw as people call her behind her back) is not a leader. She's a follower and she's been exposed during the pandemic. Alabama could run a rack of lamb as a republican and we'd have a rack of lamb as a governor as a result. She got in when the former gov was found misusing official funds and boinking his CoS.......she then gets re-elected as the incumbent.

People are not happy about this nonsensical outburst.

No longer GroupThink 'woke'.  but it was fun while it lasted.
