Which of you refuse to be vaccinated and why, please?
#16
Separate from the fact that there was a push here to vaccinate then damn furriners, I wanted to get it to protect my wifeâ€s older relatives. Protecting family comes way before any anti-govmint requirement consideration for sure. I think it should be a personal decision but choosing not to protect your family is highly irresponsible in my opinion.

Got to thinking about this: Good for Hightop and Chinabuck for doing the shot for protecting relatives.

Also, having been vaccinated a person can still pass this on and have the virus.   This is why it's important for all to get it.

The mother in-law is holding out. It's kind of crazy because she has COPD, and is like...old and stuff. I haven't asked her why, but it's her choice and if she's good with it I'm good with it....she's probably holding out for herd immunity, but idk.

While possible the evidence seems to indicate that vaccinated  persons shed very little virus when compared to unvaccinated and provide protection not only for themselves but for others as well. If that was not the case we would not be experiencing such a drastic drop in cases, pre-Delta of course.

The obsession for everyone to goose step along and get the vaccine is amusing as hell to me.  Itâ€s available for anyone that wants it.  If people want it they will get it.  I donâ€t want it and I have no plans of getting it.  Beginning and end of story.
ScarletHayes,

Tell us how you really feel, please.. I'm really getting the impression you are holding back a bit.
Seems to be a 100% emotional response. It's something I expect more from liberals.
Oh snap. Scarlet the next non liberal to be labeled a liberal to chum the waters.

From the article:
Counties in at least 12 of China's 22 provinces have announced new surveillance and restrictions measures for unvaccinated people.
Anyone not vaccinated will be banned from dozens of public areas and institutions in these regions.
One county even said its government agencies would stop paying unvaccinated employees.
Visit Insider's homepage for more stories.
Some Chinese counties will begin barring unvaccinated people from schools, hospitals, supermarkets, and other public places by late July or early August.

One side note from me: officially China has 23 provinces, 4 municipalities (very large city, such as Beijing, that for all purposes, functions as a Province), 5 Autonomous Zones (also function like a province) and two Special Admin Zones (HK and Macau). So for all practical purposes, 34 provinces.

I got it because I don't want to catch it and spread it. Duh. This isn't rocket science.

Not sure why there's a concern about spreading it when we have a vaccine available for anyone that wants it.

If someone wants the vaccine it's currently widely available and it's been widely available.

I will never get the vaccine, as I've already had the sickness. That is far more valuable than taking an unknown spike that is generally unreliable at preventing either receiving Covid or transmitting it.

I do however have all my paperwork in order. Luckily there are some doctors out there with much more sense than we see on particular message boards.

The political aspect is just stupid. If Trump had won liberals all over would be bashing the vaccines and refusing them No question. Now some conservatives are doing the same. There is no political input needed in making the decision to get vaccinated from left or right.

Totally agree with this...I hate having to continue to wear masks on planes and in the airport.  Seems like punishing the people who did the right thing and got vaccinated...if someone wants to take the chance without the vaccine, that should be their problem not mine.

yep, agreed. Available everywhere. Let those conscientious objectors do as they wish. I am perfectly fine with someone not getting it.

No longer GroupThink 'woke'.  but it was fun while it lasted.

Actually, current research suggests that Vaccinations are providing longer and more robust protection from the variants and potential reinfection than being infected. I don't know what a "spike" is in the framework of your post but vaccination is more effective than we could have ever hoped for from the start. At this point that simply cannot be debated using actual science and epi work.
