The vaccines are largely working as expected

We had an outbreak in P-town with lots of vaccinated folks infected

No one died. Very few got sick

And things have returned to normal

Liberal politicians told many of their own voters to not trust the vaccine.  Of course that's when Trump was still in office.  Clearly many of them took it to heart.  So yeah, what the govt does sometimes is relevant.  The mixed messages have played a role.  I don't know how big (no role for me personally.  Unless boxed out of every day life I'm not getting it regardless of the message) a role, but they definitely influenced many people.

I wonder where the left would be on vaccines - actually I don't - if Trump was still in the WH? I remember Harris spouting off about not taking the vaccine because she does not trust Trump. These people know the idiots would follow them off a cliff, so they say the dumbest things. These people's counterparts think the same way. Any wonder those on the right question getting the vaccine?

I would not have gotten vaccinated if I did not travel. It's not about protection from covid, it's o I could enter a country. I also could not careless about other people's health. I take care of my health, so should they.

Exactly, it's up to the individual.  The problem with that thinking, though, is that it takes power away from govt officials, and man they do not like that.  If someone wants the vaccine and still wants to mask up I have no problem with that.  They are simply looking out for themselves and aren't forcing me into anything.  This is how ALL of this should have went from since the end of the "15 days to flatten the curve" ended.  We as Americans should not have to be dealing with this nonsense.  Mind your business, people.

Pay attention to when they wear the masks or don't. It's all political BS. You are immune if you are eating/drinking/rioting/looting. Probably the biggest lie I've ever been told. BLM/Antifa... of course there is no transmission of covid in those groups. They have a cause dude!

They most certainly politicized it.  But I suspect there'd be far more republicans(52% currently) that would have gotten it if Biden/Harris weren't the ones pushing it, but instead Trump was pushing his beautiful shot.

No question it would at least be somewhat reversed. But if you ignore the politics and just look at the medical reason to vaccinate there is no rational reason not to. That's why I say noise. All of the above is irrelevant. Who cares who said what or did or didn't do whatever. The vaccines are safe and effective and worth it for even the lowest risk groups. There is no reason for almost everyone in the ICU or dying right now from COVID to be in that position. None.

I've already posted regarding this and I don't believe it's necessary with what we know so far. I would personally because it does look like it improves immunity substantially. 
Where are we at with herd immunity?  How are those studies going?
I don't know of any studies. We don't look close given cases are rising. No place has ever achieved anything like herd immunity without vaccination BTW and only just more than half the population is vaccinated.

I have never mimicked Fauci or anyone else. That's flat out false. The statement that usually goes through more rigorous testing is also false. The studies so far with the currently authorized vaccines are more rigorous and thorough than any vaccine studies I know of. Given the current data these vaccines are far beyond "experimental" and quite solidly ensconced as proven safe and effective.

OK so natural immunity would be a good answer to the question.  Not what you would choose but in accordance with many studies the folks who had covid right now have the same protection as those who got the vaccine against covid, specially this variant.

SO how much of a combination of our population is needed to check on herd immunity or a combination of vaccinated and having natural immunity?  70 percent maybe?

I doubt that any vaccine ever developed and approved in this country have went through more rigorous testing before being approved. Longer testing perhaps but certainly not MORE testing.
