Much of the Tea Party and libertarians morphed into MAGA. Libertarians were knee-jerk anti Trump during the campaign, but many of the honest ones saw what Trump accomplished, and then eventually purchased their MAGA hats on down the line. i.e. you don't get from point A (a massive/overbearing federal govt) to point B (a lean and slimmed down federal govt) in one fell swoop. And yes, Trump was a big disappointment on the spending front. His one major short coming as far as how things progressed. Covid sure didn't help much, but we were on a ridiculous spending trajectory before Covid anyway

I voted for him as well. Most likely the Tea Party doesnâ€t form. Pull right then counter pull left. It goes both ways on the political spectrum. One side pulls hard the other side races to the extreme. With the absence of center, this will be the new norm in politics.

White working class Americans have nothing in common with the socialist Democrats or the GOP establishment and that is why they reject both of them. They are embracing Trump populism/nationalism but they must take control of the GOP to have a real voice. The battle within the GOP is almost as big as the battle with the Democrats. They must also convince a portion of Democrat non-whites to join them in the battle.

That†s my take on politics today. I wasn†t even thinking about the man. The system is larger than one person

I think most people can easily see the country being pulled drastically to the Left. Where do see it being pulled to the right? Most people opposing the Leftists are not pulling to the far right. They just want some sanity.

Well, right now Trump IS THE REPUBLICAN PARTY. So if you're talking about the "two sides" and you're not placing Trump as one of these sides, your comment is pointless and irrelevant.

So, just to be clear, I guess you don't consider Trump to be an extremist? And you do think the Dems are extreme (along with this "tea party" group who is not in control of either part. And yet you voted for the extremist side. Got it.
Come to think of it, can you cite the extreme policies pushed by the tea party?

It's sole purpose is to 'impeach' Trump for a 3rd time. The left hopes it will cause enough folks to turn on Trump/populism. That's not happening.
I would love to hear all the Dems that support socialism.

If you vote Democrat today you support a form of socialism. Whether you like it or not, that is what you (they) are doing. Is that even debatable?

We have gone from one Dem that openly embraces socialism (Sanders) to many others including AOC and her crew. Whether the majority of Democrats admit to being socialists is irrelevant. Follow their policy ideas instead. Even if they aren't textbook socialism they are clearly Marxists in nature and leaning toward socialism.

Right and Left are the only terms I recognize on the spectrum. The other labels change over time. Simple fact. Center is forming on each side. The idea of moderate right and moderate left is under attack. Progressives feel moderate left are crazy. Others on the right call moderate right silly, childish names like RINO.
