I like tobacco/alcohol at 21. Hell Iâ€d outlaw tobacco. But that is just me.
Voting needs to be 18 with at least a GED.

Society would be much healthier and better off in numerous ways if alcohol, tobacco, and other substances were not available.

To show how societal norms have changed over the years, my 2 older brothers, who aren't even a year apart, love telling the story of how when they turned 12 the old man bought them both 12 gauge shotguns. No tutorial, no advice on being safe, etc... The old man gave 'em to em and basically said, happy birthday Tiger.Â
You hear that today and people are like whaaaat?  Ya gotta remember that my old man grew up in a generation where people were independent, etc...  He never thought twice about getting them shotguns being some sort of problem. They'd figure it out. Well, I like the sentiment... but, that may not have been a good idea.
I think they ended up trading the guns for guitars or something. Old man not pleased. This would've been circa 1970. Â
I more or less posted this to show the extreme swings our society has undergone. I agree in that perhaps the old man didn't exactly think it all the way through. Â

As for voting with at least a GED that's not a bad idea, but I prefer being a taxpayer as the qualifier.

In order to vote in a Federal Election you must have paid Federal Income Taxes three out of the last five years.

Tossing kids a shot gun and saying "figure it out" would be a problem. But, in the 70's, parents drove with their kids on their laps and seat belts were laughed at.

Naturally I immediately went out and shot at as many people as I could. Because this is what gun owners do.Â
I still have the rifle. It†s in great shape.

Who cares what age you are allowed to vote, it has no bearing on the fact our “representatives†believe that they hold an absolute property in and unbounded power over us, setup as legal domination, never rightfully resistible.
Every one has a right of self-preservation and much like how the movie The Patriot put it, you can teach children how to aim small, miss small. Tench Coxe recognized the militia included every able-bodied man from 16 to 65, so as long as you understand what liberty is, you should be able to own a firearm.
Can the law — which necessarily requires the use of force — rationally be used for anything except protecting the rights of everyone? … A citizen cannot at the same time be free and not free.
