If you don't like social media, don't engage with it, problem solved.
More and more liars joining in, I see it as a weakness of mind. They can't argue coherently, so they just lie, and lie, and lie.
And I don't see how I got "exited" about anything. I don't have a clue what that means. Excited? Hardly. Slightly annoyed? Somewhat. It's pathetic. But par for the course around here. This place has really deteriorated badly. And yes, I know what to do if I don't like it.
Think so? I think it rolls pretty well.  Is there disagreement? Message boards are all about disagreeing and if you didn't have it you'd have the infamous echo chamber being attached to the description of it. Kind of hurtful really as I work hard to keep a good site rolling.  But we have people disagree and agree every day with each other.

First time I ventured into this thread. I am just going to stand on the sidelines and eat my popcorn since I just recently joined not long ago. Cincy has always been a fence sitter. He rarely takes a stand one side or the other but is a solid poster.

I try and evaluate all sides of an issue, which is not what a "fence sitter" does. Most issues of interest or note have various 'sides", and they merit exploration and consideration. It's a lot easier of course to just have "your side" because of whatever Trump (or the media) told you to believe. Then you don't need to THINK. Everything is decided for you.
Some issues may have moral absolutes and you believe one side on that basis, which is fine with me, abortion for example. Most like raising this tax or that, or where COVID started, or how we should act in the pandemic, or where the economy is headed, or who will win some election, or climate change, or social security, etc., have two or more plausible "sides". If information or analysis is lacking with which to choose one side or the other, it is best to reserve judgment, especially when it avails you nothing to choose prematurely.
But it requires some thinking and reading instead of a jerked knee. Some realities may not be as you hoped they were, but reality doesn't care.

I will say this, there has been a lot of references to liars on this board. I stand by any comment and backed it up with examples.

The claim I somehow "defended Antifa up one side and down the other" is a pointless lie. I don't know why anyone would insist on such a ludicrous claim. I have never personally seen anyone who appeared to be Antifa in person. Maybe they exist here somewhere, I don't know. And you also have Antifa "wannabes" out there who dress up like them to be "cool" or something but really are marshmellows.
Has anyone here ever seen someone in person who fairly clearly was or could be "Antifa" related?
The idea I am somehow a "fence sitter" is incorrect as well just because I try and consider all sides of an issue without some kneejerk conclusion because Trump told me the answer.

When fence riders who intentionally write vague and unclear posts to attempt to create an escape hatch for themselves after they are later proven wrong, call people liars it is both hilarious and sad. Maybe they should actually state their position clearly instead of waffling so much.
"Hightop can reduce an entire message board of men to mudsharks. It's actually pretty funny to watch."
