If the cop saw him throw the gun, I'd hope he would hesitate when pulling the trigger, wouldn't you?
If the cop didn't see him throw the gun, then I would expect the cop to fire when the kid turned.
I guess I'm confused about what we're disagreeing on.
So at the time of the shooting it appears the cop shot an unarmed person correct? We do not know if the cop knew the kid had a gun we do know the cop was responding to shots fired. So what should the cop have done.
The cop did what he should do in that situation, though I hope he didn't tell the kid to turn around. The audio was hard to hear. If he told the kid to turn around, the kid did, then he shot him.... that's possibly a problem. In the video, the kid appeared to have his left hand in the pocket of his hoodie when he turned.
All things considered, I can't see a problem with the cops actions. Unlike Jacob Blake, this cop didn't put 7 bullets in someone's back.
The audio is difficult to hear in the video. If the officer told the kid to drop the gun, turn around and put your hands up and then shot the kid when he dropped the gun, turned around and put his hands up.. that would seem to be a problem.
