K9BuckI reconsidered, I will follow and cheer on OSU football
#1
The sports world, like most everything else, has been taken over by the political left.  I don't mind if they support, for instance, socialism over free-market capitalism.  No, it's not that.  What I cannot tolerate are the LIES and hypocrisy of the left as well as those that are forced to parrot leftist narratives.

For instance, Ryan Day has done a masterful job of sucking up to the leftists by parroting their narratives.  The one thing that Day has NOT done is tell them the truth, which he cannot do if, that is, he wants to keep his job.

Our basketball team recently kneeled during the national anthem in order to crap on our nation while wearing leftist slogans such as "equity" but, of course, nobody ever tells those kids the truth either.

The fact is, there is no room for truth in society and that includes our sports teams.

I know that NOT watching OSU sports is not going to make an iota of difference.  I'm not quitting my sports fandom because I believe that it will have any positive effect.  I'm quitting my sports fandom because I can no longer stomach the lies and hypocrisy.

The world, and that includes the U.S., has sold its soul to the devil.  They embrace the lies while rejecting the truth.  I no longer want to be a party to that.  I'm done.

Now, who's on Dancing with the Stars this season?   Big Grin

I agree with him. But I'm too weak to give up OSU sports. Especially when the teams are really good lol.

I do have little problem telling my favorite pro sports teams to phuck off, though.

It is the disadvantage of freedom of speech, hearing people that donâ€t agree with you. I will always support tOSU teams. I agree with them on the most important aspect, love of my Alma Mater.

My leaving pro sports in the dust is because I donâ€t have enough passion for them to offset the injecting of divisive opinions into entertainment.

Lies and manipulation are not a lefty monopoly.

I clearly explained my reasoning and it has nothing to do with that.  Where did you get such an idea?

So if they used their "freedom of speech" to announce their support of ISIS, you'd be down with that? Or stated their support of abortion right up to birth?  Where do you draw your line? Anywhere?

Freedom of speech works in both directions. Anyone is free to support any thing they want. And then I have the right to think they're trash for doing so, and respond accordingly.

My biggest issue is the LIE that these people care about black people when it's clear that they don't. Black people are massacred on a weekly basis in black communities and our elected leaders, government officials, the mainstream media, social-media giants, and, yes, the sports world, ALL ignore their plight while pretending and claiming that they care. Ryan Day doesn't care because, if he did, he would use his platform to TELL THE TRUTH. However, I can understand why he is loathed to do so as it would mean the end of his career.

What would be the response if players and coaches wanted to protest abortion?  We all know the answer to that!

Rhino misses the mark there. That isn't the issue at all. The issue is what we know about what happens to those who people who do disagree. Ask Mike Gundy. He wore a T-shirt. You have to go in front of the cameras if you don't toe the woke line and give the kind of speech you hear from somebody being held by North Korea or Isis or lose your job. You'll probably lose it anyway. The issue is the lack of freedom of speech. Tell me what happens if you are in sports and you agree with me.

We are on the same page here. Supporting Isys would be across the line, for that individual. If the A.D. put out a statement in support of Isis, Iâ€d be out.

as to kneeling, which I dislike, but not a stopper, the right is perpetuating the big lie here. They are not protesting the flag, kneeling started from the advice of a military vet, and they are Protesting unequal policing towards blacks.

I thought the basket Bucks knelt because they were protesting not being paid for their images, etc. (in response to Jason Williams' comments)?  I could be wrong, though.  Either way, I disagree with what they did.
