Progress definitely made. Hope we can find room to trim payroll while somehow holding onto Castellanos and picking up a number 1 for the bull pen

Most wins since 2013 Votto again MVP candidate with 36 HR and 98 RBIs Mahle Gutierrez Santillan SanMartin Givens INDIA Stephenson Winker(albeit hurt) Miley Warren Farmer with a HUGE year at SS Castellanos over 300 BA and 100 RBIs Negatives: Aquino Senzel hurt again Suarez hitting under 200 Akiyama is dud Gray is meh....average at best Garrett Lorenzen Moustakas hurt as always Castillo not much till after All Star Break AND HUGE NEGATIVE?  Best pitcher on staff went down in June: Antone Add the blunders by front office in some of the moves like keeping Bedrosian, Hoffman, Cabrera, trade of Iglesias and NOTHING in return, and he was 7-5 with 2.5 ERA and 34 saves for Angels...and Reds just gave him away.https://www.mlb.com/player/raisel-iglesias-628452

Had on wlw for a minute and the twerp Sterling said 36 HRs and 99 RBI. Obviously very close, I just wonder which set is right.
edit: Now I see you said 36. I thought I saw 38. Never mind. Not gonna quibble over 1 RBI

Once we got swept by the brewers coming out of the all star break I knew the team was doomed. And we did finish 3rd and India did end up becoming a heck of a threat. Shame lorenzen never really got going and once he did fully come back the team was on its heels. I'm pleasantly surprised by votto and I only wished he showed this hunger earlier in his career, because we had some oretty good teams at one time and he just refused to lead. I hope that my other prediction is wrong in castellanos exercising his contract out but I bet he does go back on the open market and tries to go to a winner and maximize his contract, which no doubt his value increases and we won't be able to afford him, which leads me back to my thoughts back in June that if we aren't going to make some moves before or at the all star break to improve the team, we need to trade him, because now all they'll get is a few compensatory picks in the draft. Where as if we'd made the trade back then we could've gotten great value for him. I don't have a lot of faith in the front office, especially after giving bell an extension. Castellanos is gone.  Guarantee that.  Reds were in the hunt for a division at that time so trading Castellanos was not going to happen and chances are they only get minor league player/prospects since Nick was going to use his option to get OUT of that contract after the season.  Compensation is fine for this and the money saved can be used to help fill some gaps. I hate the front office for the Reds. Bell is ok and I really doubt they could find much better replacement. The real issue is Krall. He's a freaking idiot.

Division title or not, because this team knew that castellanos was gone unless they made a deep playoff run, which was unlikely without a closer, which we never had a closer or a solid set up man all year. My brother is of the same opinion as you and I will always maintain our 2021 season and beyond would've been better making that trade Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

You'd not gotten that at all: LOOK at what the DODGERS GOT and gave up. It's not even close to what you wish for ONE player: Washington acquired a pair of rookies, right-hander Josiah Gray and catcher Keibert Ruiz, and two minor leaguers, righty Gerardo Carrillo and outfielder Donovan Casey. FROM DODGERS FOR: The Dodgers acquired three-time Cy Young Award winner Max Scherzer and All-Star shortstop Trea Turner, finalizing the deal for the dynamic duo from the Washington Nationals shortly before Fridayâ€s cutoff for making swaps.

I still think they would've gotten a front line closer straight up for castellanos or a set up man and a minor leaguer.
