Photographer Spends 12 Years, 1250 Hours, Exposing Photo of Milky Way (petapixel.com)
If you ever look up at the sky and wonder what's out there, this is a collection of long exposure photographs taken over 12 years. It's incredible. Make sure you click on the individual images so you can enlarge them to see the "detail." This will not work well on a phone, get to your laptop or desktop. Uncountable numbers of individual stars can be seen. And this is just one part of the Milky Way. It got my mind racing over the potential for life to have arisen elsewhere. The other thing, the ununderstandable scale of our galaxy. And then you start thinking that our galaxy is one tiny grain of sand compared to the rest of the universe, the observable universe!
