No they are not.   Has zero to do with California in least.  Take a look at the map and what the GOP won in counties across the US.    The dems got away with the mail in BS to squeak a win.....SQUEAK, BARELY, you call it what it was but was a tiny victory in about 4 states.  There are MILLIONS of voters who vote conservative and they run state gov't more than dems. do.   You tired old same we need slavery stupidity and opposed to our live as of now, and we're all doomed to Bolsiviks..(laughable again) and we need to string people up and bring in Hitler type tactics to shoot people is just pure nonsense.

You'll figure it out soon enough.  Right now you are just whistling past the graveyard.

Slight difference, but sure.

I hope not. I respect him too much to see him go through all this again. He is what, 76? Go enjoy retirement. He will always go down to me as one who stood up to the machine.

I think any one of our fellow nuthouse posters has as good of a chance of getting the gop nomination in 2024 as Trump does.

The polar left is still destined to destroy the Democratic Party. Theyâ€ve proven to vote against their interest beba use of shallow thinking.

Many moderate Republicans, I know many hate them and call them names will come back for the right candidate.

In 2008, I wondered if the Dems would ever lose the White House again with that enthusiasm. Seems it was candidate based.

The next 8 years can go many directions.  The country can lose its political enthusiasm without polarizing candidates.  Then itâ€s back to the old 2 party system.
Polarizing candidates can still emerge and fracture both parties creating electoral chaos.  To which a centrist party can emerge, except one issue is stopping that.

What I believe is the Democrats will implode by 2028 and fracture completely. This will create a Progressive party. This may cause a  viable third party that will push the center of the country back right.

Weâ€ve seen this before.  Every 25-30 years, the countryâ€s center moves right or left.

You have it backward.  The Democrat Party is more and more becoming a unified dystopian socialist party with numbers that will dominate the country.  It is a party of Leftist ideologues mixed with low IQ third world idiots who just want handouts.  The GOP on the other hand is becoming hopelessly fractured as establishment Republicans who reluctantly supported Trump have now turned on him alienating the GOP base, made up of conservative/nationalist Republicans many of whom are swearing to leave the party.  The problem with your conventional analysis is it excludes the absolutely most important factor, race.  The shrinking white population means a shrinking GOP party.  It's over.

Perhaps youâ€re being myopic on race. Changing demographics isnâ€t solely race. Boomers are dying. There are more youth that are active in politics than ever before....many wonâ€t parrot their parents or grandparents. Some actually will vote opposite out of spite.

Perhaps itâ€s not solely demographics. Perhaps we are seeing a need to change curriculum to teach students how to process the overwhelming amount of information in the palm of their hands. I mean adults are following gateway pundit and Palmer Report as news.

Perhaps this is the wound of a having a demagogue leader back to back. Perhaps the EC needs reformed to to itâ€s original intent to stop demagogues. I know how to fix it....but itâ€s not popular with conservatives and I donâ€t blame them.

Perhaps Republics have a life span like empires. Maybe this is the end of the line. Unless the country moves back to center, I fear this is the outcome.

I donâ€t think Iâ€m wrong about the parties. The left will break from the Dems. They want it all they want it all right now, even though they donâ€t understand that movements take time. Proven by their petulance in 2016. Even the latest populist movement was due a setback. Perhaps we fund history curriculum as much as STEM and people would understand.

Legislatively, the progressive agenda will be much like the first New Deal. So no worries there. If there was a Warren court, I would feel different. But a 6-3 SCOTUS will confound most. That will cause the left to break away fracturing the Dems.

I agree the Reps will have similar fracturing, but current gerrymandering will keep them in power in the legislature.
