Is there a factual basis for believing that or is it just what you want to believe? Nice jaded question there....

Look at this Psalm. Keep in mind, the Word for God is Elohim. Thatâ€s plural. More than one. To the Biblical writers, the Most High certainly would have been the God of Israel. It cannot be Christ because he asks “how long will you judge “unjustlyâ€, And it cannot be talking about a man, because the judgement is the will die like men. So who is being talked about here?
Psalms 82
“God stands in the congregation of the mighty; He judges among the gods.
How long will you judge unjustly, And show partiality to the wicked? Selah
Defend the poor and fatherless; Do justice to the afflicted and needy.
Deliver the poor and needy; Free them from the hand of the wicked.
They do not know, nor do they understand; They walk about in darkness;
All the foundations of the earth are unstable.
I said, “You are gods, And all of you are children of the Most High.

Arise, O God, judge the earth; For You shall inherit all nations.â€

I think it is a completely legitimate question.

Okay. So... Belief in multiple God's, but only worship one God, which is kinda sorta three beings, but still only one God.
Crystal clear.

This is an incredible answer. Is/was Lucifer a God?
Can you expand on the plurality of Elohim? That was part of my religious teachings as well, but had never heard a mainstream Christian mention it before.Â
Thanks.

These types of people come to mind when thinking about "worldly" people.
Barack Obama with Beyonce and Jayzee
Joe Biden and President Xi
The loving-left's darling, Kathy Griffin
Liberal elite media like the New Yorker and their love of all things worldly, such as lying, crooked, Hillary.
Then there is BLM, which take BILLIONS and does NOTHING for black people yet, is loved by worldly people such as Lebron.
The world loves their own, such as Ellen and Michelle.
Sean Penn and the late dictator of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez
The world adores leftist Meryl Streep and, of course, the uber-corrupt Obama.
And what would a thread about worldly people be without the darling of the world, Taylor Swift?
The world would have been apocalyptic had this been done to Obama on a nightly basis, but since it was Trump, they loved it.

First I would recommend a book called the Unseen Realm by Dr Michael Heiser.
Its about what he labels the “Divine Council†talked about in Psalms 82. Mike is a Biblical and Near Eastern language scholar. He knows the Hebrew side but also the cultural and history of the surrounding people†s and nations at the time. This is not just his thoughts. He lists hundreds of resources and scholarly texts to back it all up. He dives into the language of the text and history, and culture of the nations to make his case. This book is pretty academic so this isn†t what you†ll here in a half hour sermon somewhere. A more layman†s book is his “Supernatural†a lot easier read. Mike is an academic scholar so he's pretty dry on his lectures but absolutely knows his stuff.
Btw he also has books on Angels, Demons, the book of Enoch and a few others.
2nd He worked with the guys at The Bible Project to come up with a short easy to understand video series about these things you might want to check out. Don†t blow it off just because it†s a simple animation, because Heiser was involved in it.
Here†s the first 3 links in the series...
Intro...Â
Elohim....Â
Divine Council...Â
Hope these help.

This is incredible, thanks. I had no idea that Protestants believed in the council of the Gods. I need to know more about this.Â
You are the poster that I always hoped that Alabuck could be, but I could never quite pry it out of him. Thanks again.

Which reminds me, Bama, of something that John MacArthur said: "Christians thirst for the word of God". Amen to that!
