I don't understand your logic. The winning team should have shown respect to the other team by not showboating (in this I agree), but a fair response is to intentionally hurt another player? How about both teams play with respect? Or in your mind two wrongs equal a right?
What would Don Drysdale do? Â WWDDD?
Ha, you're not helping your argument! Oh yeah, we all know what he would have done. Although baseball and football retribution is a little different. Drysdale had excellent control. He could bring in some high and tight chin music or plink you in the ribs as he wished. You got the message, but with a modicum of pain/fear. As to football showboaters, you can take a guy to the ground a little harder than necessary without intentionally inflicting injury. That I get.
Really?Â
One day at Dodger Stadium, St. Louis catcher Gene Oliver blasted a long home run off Drysdale. Before beginning a leisurely trot around the bases, Oliver first stood at home plate admiring the flight of the ball and then said, loud enough for Drysdale to hear, “Hey, batboy, come get the bat.â€
Oliverâ€s actions came under the heading of “showing up†the pitcher, and it was a foregone conclusion that Drysdale would make Oliver pay for his Cardinal sins. The next time Oliver batted, Drysdale drilled him with a fastball. While Oliver writhed in the dirt of the batterâ€s box and teammates and the Cardinals†trainer rushed to his aid, Drysdale said loud enough for everyone to hear, “Hey, batboy, come get Oliver.â€
That is what that QB deserved too.

With the expectation that Drysdale didn't go for the head, which could be career ending, he would throw at the batter's back/side. So while it hurt, it was not potentially career ending like a devastating late hit would be on a QB. So that just proves my point.
The batter would be sore, but likely stayed in the game. Whereas for a QB, it could all be over, and maybe forever.

Page is in 3A North, along with Tuba City, Monument Valley, Chinle, Window Rock and Ganado.Â
Fredonia and El Capitan are in 8-man 1A North, along with Mogallon, Joseph City, Williams and Mayer.Â
Beaver Dam HS (AZ) is in in Nevada 1A South, along with GV Christian, Mountain View Christian, Indian Springs, and Spring Mountain. Â
The only games that I have attended this year are Utah 4A Region 9, which is the 6 St George area HSs, along with the 2 in Cedar City. Mayer was actually the only one I could think of thatâ€s central. West of Page lol? Do 8 people even live in AZ west of Page? Joking but theres hardly anything west of Page.
Well again, I'm in St George, so I haven't really made it too far east or south of Page yet. Lol.Â
The strip is nice and scenic. Not very many folks per square foot, that's true. But you have the North Rim, Lake Powell, Vermillion Cliffs, Kaibab National Forest, Lake Mead, etc. Instead of 8 people, there are actually 8 towns (and a Piute Rez).  But yeah, Page is the best thing that they have going, and it is technically not even on the strip. It's not on the Navajo Rez either, it just sort of bridges the gap.

You had no valid point to be honest. Where did I say take out a knee or something that might require surgery?

Injuries caused by late hits are common. Of course, encouraging dirty play by anyone, particularly high school kids, is pretty f**ked up in the first place.

Rarely at the high school level. A good cheap shot knocking him out briefly or causing him to be helped off the field was clearly in order. You have to send a-holes like that a message.

The only message you're sending is to act like a sore loser and a child because your defense isn't good enough to stop a back-turned, floating pass.

Sounds like you aren't very competitive and just a good loser.

I'm incredibly competitive. Until about 5 years ago, when I basically got too old to play the way I wanted to play, I was in multiple softball leagues because I love competition. Yes, you get frustrated when the other team run-rules you, but you don't cheap shot them because the other team is better. That is what you call a b!tch move...bush league. If you don't like that the other team is scoring on you, man up and play better defense.

I'm sure co-ed softball is pretty rough.

I played in both. Both were competitive. The guys league was obviously more competitive because of all the "If my high school coach wouldn't have screwed me over, I'd be in MLB right now" type of guys that played.
