ChinaBuckSpain giving us a taste of things to come?

We have never had an official national language. English is the de facto national language as is codified as such in some federal and state department. It's taught in all schools. Spanish is codified as well as a secondary language for some local official transactions. And in a few very local spots here and there, other languages may be considered, such as Chinese, Tagalog, French, etc. Although, spoken widely, I have not yet seen my native language of Redneck codified anywhere. Such as, I am up a crick without paddle.

However, in Spain, Spanish is now no longer the national language. Fascist leftists have had it delisted. But these same leftists have in Catalonia only Catalonian is now taught. And you must speak/read Catalonian to hold a political office in Catalonia. Feel free to read the article to get a sense of the type of language terrorism that our ultra-leftists could soon be pushing.

As foolish as I was in my younger days, my only regret is not being fluent in more than English. I have and am rectifying that daily now. To the point, as long as English remains lingua franca, there wonâ€t be any radical change necessary.
