The first Moon landing in 1969 represented the peak of Western civilization after hundreds of years of exploration, settlement and development.  Now as diversity and multiculturalism move our new multi-race society backward, we are devolving in nearly every way.  But just keep repeating, diversity is our greatest strength over and over and over ... .

She was a contributor to the space program.  To say she was irreplaceable is a big stretch.

I get what you are saying and I agree but I do not think it had anything to do with multiculturalism.  It really is an example of once upon a time we used our diversity as a strength and we came together for the common good.  Today the catch phrase of multiculturalism is used to separate us (intentional or not).

I know, which is why I agreed with your post.  She was important to the cause (how important is debatable I guess but why bother it was important). and I am glad she got her just recognition even if this late.

That article read like it was written by the Babylon Bee!  Honestly.  I would never believe that was true if I hadnt read it myself.   Amazing that a place filled with as many fact based and supremely intelligent people as NASA would ever come up with something that stupid.  

We are really getting to a Emperors clothes situation.  And it cant be a conservative who points out the naked Emperor.  It has to be a left leaning or at least independant that says this is getting out of hand.  

Everyone is so afraid so speak for fear of losing thier job, getting labelled racist, or being "cancelled", that the Emperor dances on.   Sad commentary.  

I guess one "hope" is that with Biden winning, maybe it will calm some of this down?  There is no big bad evil Orange Menace anymore.  Maybe even left-center people will get tired of this current environment?  I know HT and others will disagree, but that is my hope for the country.
