Incorrect. But Bart Ehrman is one of the Biblical scholars that I enjoy reading.

I will say that certainly even the disciples thought that Christ was going to set up his kingdom on the Earth. Thatâ€s pretty plain. They didnâ€t realize there would be a second coming.
As far as for the OT side of it, the Rabbis and Sages were well aware of what happened to Enoch and Elijah

Hmmm, I found the article. Seems your responses came most directly from the article.Â
And Ehrman is an apologist for contemporary left wing Jewish “intellectualsâ€. But hey, you do you.

What's your issue with him? from what I know of him, he's a renowned historical scholar of the bible by many in academia.
It just helps me categorize where you are coming from.

You believe that Time is the only source Bart Ehrman used for promoting his book Heaven and Hell?

I'm a big fan of renowned atheist Sam Harris and I heard a podcast where Sam had Bart on his show. I listed to one of Ehrman's audiobooks and found it very interesting. Not just the usual "mocking" of religion, but an in-depth, historical look at the Bible.Â
If you have time, you may find it very interesting also.

Bart 'lost his faith' over time. He's used that to spur his interpretation of his work. He's not a valid source for discussion of what the Bible is saying.

That's not exactly true. He was a born again Christian who went to two Christian colleges and still teaches New Testament studies at North Carolina. His loss of faith didn't spur his view of Christianity, his historical studying of the Bible lead to his loss of faith.

God is Spirit. Those that seek Him must approach Him that way. The Scriptures are a spiritual book. You cannot understand it from just a knowledge point of view. Why would I or anyone listen to someone teach the Word of God, that doesn†t know God? He might be able to name people places times and kingdoms, but he would be absolutely lost on what the Scriptures are even about. If someone is teaching it as a history book they are certainly missing the whole point of it.Â
I won†t quote the whole thing here, but 1 Corinthians chapter 2 deals with this.

Many of the things I've heard him talk about are actually taught in seminary School - or whatever is the school for aspiring pastors. For example, the the fact that many books of the New Testament were written by unknown authors, yet attributed to specific authors..
Many historical biblical scholars remain Christian, likely because the "human" origins if the Bible isn't a secret, not an automatic showstopper for believers.
Either way, it's very interesting even for non-believers.

Honestly the fact that “things are taught in seminary school†doesnâ€t help the case. Seminaries have been taken over by the same people that took over colleges. Many Pastors come out of seminary with again, head knowledge and zero touch or interaction with the Spirit of God. Denominations are full of pastors that prob start off with good intentions, then get roped into the system of promotion, more money etc. Certainly not all but a bunch.
