Russia just admitted it was fudging COVID numbers. Knowing that you could land in jail there for answering would you say the Chinese government is reporting COVID numbers there accurately?

The Chinese CDC reported yesterday that the infection rate in the general Wuhan area was likely about 10 times more widespread than originally believed. If so, in that area, based upon antibody test analysis, approximately 500,000 people at some point had the virus. They said the infection rate outside of the general Wuhan area remains at the much lower level reported and that was due to the dramatic actions taken to shut down the Wuhan area.

It says 5%. Seems low. Some areas of New York back in August had antibody test rates up to 33% and I'd put the lowest estimate for the US at 10% now and likely more like 15-20%.

OK, that's what I thought too regarding the rate in China, but I'm not as dialed into this as much as you. What I thought was telling is that this information came out just before the WHO investigative team arrives in China next week.

My wife got her vaccination email/invite. Phase 1, Group 2B, or some such designation...basically educators/childcare/some other group of deemed essential workers. It was short of a scheduling link so my guess is it starts when the next supply is received and had information about the shot.

Turns out Children's Healthcare of Atlanta has enough vaccines to give it to anyone that wants it. Friend of mine that works in logistics is getting it Monday morning, my P&O BIL is getting it Wednesday.

Turns out Children's Healthcare of Atlanta has enough vaccines to give it to anyone that wants it. Friend of mine that works in logistics is getting it Monday morning, my P&O BIL is getting it Wednesday.

Iâ€m sorry, but thatâ€s just not right. The vaccine should be distributed first to those in high risk groups, the elderly and first responders. They should have donated extra to someplace that may have a shortage, especially in rural areas.

I'm going to postpone one month on getting the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine. I'm going to stay in the trial unblinded. I think that's the best way for 3 reasons. 1. Continue to contribute to the trial. 2. Free up a shot this month that is needed more for someone not immunized. 3. 2 months between viral vaccines usually works better as a booster. 
I really hope we get the Oxford/AstraZeneca and Johnson and Johnson vaccines next month. Also I like the idea of half doses to double the Moderna supply. The vaccine "czar" is floating that idea. We already get some extra from the Pfizer vials. Now if we could just get the government out of the way so people can actually get the shots we'll be rolling.

The FDA doesn't like the half dose idea. Bureaucrats don't like to think, it causes them pain.
The Brits, who basically invented hidebound bureaucracy, however are trying get one shot to a maximum number of people. Having a gummint healthcare system they are in poor shape for handling their surge and are getting into desperate straits right now. It is straits BTW Scarlet. Imagine if the VA and IHS were providing all our healthcare, that's what they have. 
The pharmacist that left out vaccine doses to spoil is a conspiracy theory kook. Yet more evidence that it's a form of mental illness.

I did my 'patriotic duty' I told the VA to let somebody else take my position in line. I made it clear that I will wait until every single Veteran is vaccinated before I will take the vaccine. The idiot on the other end "Oh, thank you very much". If I do take a vaccine it will be from Japan.

The guinea pigs have already been given the vaccine. Phase 1 , Phase 2, and Phase 3. Now hundreds of thousands ,possibly millions worldwide, already as well. How many do you need? Kind of fraidy catty for a soldier don't you think?

When Japan makes a decision on which vaccine it will administer, I will then be able to decide on taking a vaccine. I'm waiting for the AstraZeneca vaccine to finish its trials, and gain FDA approval. Once Japan gives the ok and FDA approves, I'll get in line.
