I'm up to about ten friends that have started vaccination. Excited to watch them through. So far nobody has even so much as felt bad. One mentioned it was easier than the flu shot this year.

I'm worried about January though. The Dems are big gummint bureaucrats control everything and tell everybody what to do types. I can see them making a gigantic mess of things. I hope they're smart enough to just stay the course and tinker only if necessary. If they start having the swamp idiots try to micromanage things chaos will ensue.

China's vaccine that is like the the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines (mRNA based) is just completing Stage 1. It is about 8 or so months away. the other 5 candidates they have use an inactivated virus. The five candidates they have are 2 from Sinopharm, Sinovac, CareVac and another I never can remember the name.

Moderna shots start today. I'm still torn. Apparently if I had called last week I could have had my first shot today. I'm thinking I'll stick with the study until early January in hopes AstraZeneca will have their data.

So I put it at 2.5 because I assume the wife and kid can be counted as friends.  How confident is one that there is someone outside that family unit that claims Jacket as a friend???

So I'm going to call and see if I can schedule the vaccine for the first week of January. AstraZeneca should have data by then. That would be 4 weeks from my second shot so should be fine to use the mRNA vaccine as a booster if I got the real deal from AZ. In Phase 2 BTW for the AZ vaccine highest antibody titers averaged 42 days from the first shot. That would be Christmas Eve.  I tell you what  if I end up with 2 COVID vaccines on board I'm going to do whatever the hell I want. If that isn't going to get er done then we just are going to have to go about our lives and let it do what it's going to do.

I agree with Ilhan Omar. I can't believe that actually happened. She is critical of lawmakers including AOC for getting the vaccine ahead of others. Couldn't agree more. Those people should be listed in the dictionary under unessential. They should be dead last to get the vaccines.

Will it possibly make the vaccines less effective ? or even render them useless if it makes its way here.?

They are saying it has made itself much easier to get and travel. ?????

Sounds like it's just more infectious. They usually don't mutate into anything more dangerous because that wouldn't make sense. The virus dies with the host so those mutations wouldn't be as likely to spread. It hasn't been in an environment with the vaccines so it isn't likely to mutate in a way that makes them ineffective. So it's likely just going to spread faster and easier. But that's been hypothesized before with other mutations when we had the surge this summer.
