It is a racial issue because her life and her lifestyle and the mentality that caused her to be elevated to role model and someone to be admired, is part of contemporary black culture.  If she had been white, there would have been zero riots, zero protests, and zero interest.  Most of us would be glad to see her gone.
totally missed the point......

It was a police encounter gone wrong.  It's an example of the need for review of the policies on no knock warrants.  It's a process issue.  You describe what happened afterward, which I don't disagree with, but the core encounter had no racial component, and only became one because of my point that you replied to.

The police did nothing wrong.  The public response to the incident is the real issue, not the incident itself.  As I said, if her and boyfriend were white instead of black, most people would be glad to see her gone and there would be no $12 million payout to her family. This is 100% about race.

And I feel very badly for those black entrepreneurs who have stayed in the area and built businesses trying to lift their neighborhoods, trying to lead people out, only to be burned out over a lie. That's evil, and the heartbreak I've seen in multiple videos of these business owners is crushing.

It seems to me that it's always a police encounter gone wrong, it's never on the person committing the crime or not heading a police officers command.

The police have state authority that they carry with them.  They will always, rightfully so, get greater scrutiny.

This was never about scrutinizing police.  This was about creating a false narrative about an innocent black EMT targeted and killed by police because she was black.  Like Ferguson and like all the others, it was a lie from the start.

I agree that the police have greater scrutiny but it seems like it is heightened whenever blacks are involved. When a black police officer is involved in a shooting, there's hardly a mention of race but when a white police offices in involved in a shooting it's usually "a white police officer shot and killed"......

I totally agree, and I think it will be pushed until they are made aware that to not get shot, 1) obey police commands, 2)don't get involved in the criminal justice system. Very few if any are random police shootings...they had to be called out to something, or observed something. They just don't pull you over and shoot you.

In my city, BLM and the thugs are moving their agenda forward and winning.  The Democrat majority on the city council along with the Democrat mayor are passing more legislation this week designed to restrict police and put them under even more scrutiny from people and groups that hate them.  Crime and violence here will get worse and worse under the new rules they are putting in place for police.

The irony is the policies pushed by BLM and leftie kooks will result in more black people dying and in worse economic conditions for blacks. But as liberals will do they will double down on the failure.

Even worse it will make the city more dangerous and unstable for white people and businesses, many of which will be moving out to safer areas as police are even more restricted and ineffective.  I believe we surpassed our annual record for shootings and murders back in July.  My prediction that this mayor would turn Louisville into Memphis from about 5 years ago has been fulfilled.  The vibrant entertainment district downtown built over the last 30 years is a ghost town now and gang/drug shootings occur in every area of the county.

White flight along with middle class black flight following the inevitable crime increase is why the policies will harm blacks economically. They'll be left with a few Asian owned stores with the owners hiding behind bullet proof plexiglass and no job prospects and awful schools. Liberals never learn. I wouldn't be surprised to see them start building gummint housing projects again.
