One thing this season has really shown is that it really does not take us a 162 game season for the best teams to break through.  Weren't the Dodgers heavy favorites in the NL before the season?  I don't really know much about TB though.  Just that over-glorified AAA franchises like Tampa Bay, Arizona and Miami win the World series once every five to ten years while the Reds haven't even sniffed at one in 25 years.

I could easily live with a 100 game season and an expanded playoff.

Tampa Bay plays in St. Pete's at probably the worst stadium/arena in sports. It looks horrible from the outside, even worse inside.

I know, and it's a testament to their front office and management.  TB seems like they are typically at least in contention.  Often taking the Yankees to the hilt.  It's sort of amazing.

And BTW, that's what I meant by over-glorified AAA team (no fan base, bad facilities, etc, etc, etc...   i.e. there is no reason whatsoever for them to be as successful as they are.  It makes no sense from the outside)

It is weird to me as the same area gets excellent Spring Training baseball. The Yankees play right in Tampa.

Yankees are established and a old franchise with lots of fans from NY and NJ and other parts of the country which move down to Florida so no surprise they get attention there during spring training.

Maybe I should clarify. I have no allegiance to either the Yankee's or Phillie's. I was just there to watch a ball game. I have never seen two fanbases act like such ***** to each other. Both of the accents are also annoying.

I'm not surprise at the reaction at all.  Phillies an NL team and there is a rivalry among those from NY toward Philly as an AL team, which may be from the Giants and Eagles connection....or Knicks vs 76ers connection.   When the two baseball teams meet even in spring training the drunk guys and gals go after each other over a meaningless game.

Tampa Bay will always have trouble gaining traction of loyal fan base as so many people in Florida have moved there and not home grown baseball fans.

Dodgers win last night and now have a 2-1 lead in series.   PIVOTAL tonight as a Dodgers win would give them commanding 3-1 lead.   Up 1-0 early tonight over D Rays.

One fan base is used to its team winning championships while the other wins every 60 years or so. Philly has the worst fans in all sports worldwide. The Philly home games have a judge inside the stadium for the issues the fans cause. The people of Philly are just as you see them as fans - low class, low I.Q.

The Mets and Red Sox fans are a close 2nd and 3rd. The Yankees fans come in 4th overall.

Best fans in any sport are the Nebraska Cornhusker fans.
The America, and the American Military, that you once knew is gone.
