However, Barrettâ€s record is troubling on many issues, with a ruling that gives Democrats in Illinois blanket authority to ***** down society based on COVID-19 mass hysteria standing out as particularly heinous.

Barrett concurred with the majority Illinois Republican Party et al. v. J.B. While in the face of a pandemic the Governor of Illinois was not compelled to make a special dispensation for religious activities, see Elim, nothing in the Free Speech Clause of the First Amendment barred him from doing so. Patriotic attorney Robert Barnes has levied additional criticism against Barrett for her unwillingness to stand up to Democrat overreach.

“For example, Barrett, I would oppose her nomination personally. So I would do whatever I can to see her nomination fail. I have no interest in seeing someone like that on the bench,” Barnes an interview on the Viva Frei YouTube channel.

“She comes from the old money corporate South, a world Iâ€m familiar with and the kind of people Iâ€d never want to see in positions of power… Thatâ€s the world she comes from. Her dad was a big Shell oil corporate lawyer,” he continued.

Barnes explained how Barrettâ€s history working as a Clerk for deceased former Justice Antonin Scalia is giving the false impression that she shares his staunch originalist beliefs when that is not in fact the case. He explained that her rise is similar to that of Chief Justice John Roberts, whose record of extreme cowardice on the bench has harmed the nation immeasurably.
“This is how Justice Roberts got on the bench. You do two things if youâ€re on the Republican side of the aisle: You let people know that you believe Roe v. Wade should be overturned even if you donâ€t believe that… And you play the corporate side of the equation,” he said.

But most importantly, you get that Justice and his extended intellectual heavyweights to lobby for you to be appointed to the judicial bench down the road… Thatâ€s why people are pushing Barrett,” Barnes added.
Barnes highlighted some of Barrettâ€s worst decisions in a blistering Twitter thread.

So you want this to be left open until January? At this point these are your only two options. That is the real world.

Day ONE of the confirmation of the next justice of the supreme court....having control of the courts does provide a measure of satisfaction:
https://www.foxnews.com/politics/amy-con...ng-remarks

"Courts have a vital responsibility to enforce the rule of law, which is critical to a free society," Barrett said Monday, the first of a four-day hearing on her nomination to the Supreme Court. "But courts are not designed to solve every problem or right every wrong in our public life."

She continued: "The policy decisions and value judgments of government must be made by the political branches elected by and accountable to the People. The public should not expect courts to do so, and courts should not try."

In her four-page opening statement, Barrett aligned her legal philosophy with that of the late Justice Antonin Scalia, a member of the court's conservative wing for whom she previously clerked.

"It was the content of Justice Scaliaâ€s reasoning that shaped me. His judicial philosophy was straightforward: A judge must apply the law as written, not as the judge wishes it were. Sometimes that approach meant reaching results that he did not like," Barrett told senators.

Before her confirmation hearing even began, Barrett, a mother of seven, faced scrutiny and criticism over her Catholic faith and large family. Media reports likened a religious organization with which she was affiliated to the dystopian television show "The Handmaid's Tale," and during her Seventh Circuit confirmation hearing, Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., told Barrett that "the dogma lives loudly within you," which was "of concern."

"What your political opponents want to paint you as is a TV or cartoon version of a religious radical," Ernst said, "a so-called ‘handmaid†that feeds into all of the ridiculous stereotypes they have set out to lambaste people of faith in America. And thatâ€s wrong.”

Ernst noted that such criticism is out of sync with the left's usual support of equality and justice for women. If confirmed, Barrett would be filling the Supreme Court seat left vacant by the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a liberal icon who is recognized by both sides of the aisle as a pioneer for women in the legal profession.

"Iâ€m struck by the irony of how demeaning to women their accusations really are," Ernst continued. "That you, a working mother of seven with a strong record of professional and academic accomplishment, couldnâ€t possibly respect the goals and desires of todayâ€s women. That you, as a practicing Catholic with a detailed record of service, lack compassion.”

Ernst praised the U.S. for giving women the opportunity to set their own path and not conform to expectations of who they should or should not be.

On Sunday, a group of objectors flocked to the Supreme Court clad in red robes and white hats similar to garbs worn by women in the popular Hulu series “The Handmaidâ€s Tale." They demonstrated against the Senate hearing to fill the void left by the late Ruth Bader Ginsburg with that of Barrett, whose confirmation hearing began on Monday.

Anti-abortion groups have championed Barrett's nomination, while pro-choice activists have fiercely opposed her -- both believing she could be a vote to overturn or chip away at Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 case that gave women a legal right to terminate a pregnancy.

Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett delivers opening statement Video
In the often criticized “Handmaidâ€s Tale,” women are relieved of their rights all-together and are relegated to only being used as vessels of reproduction. The war of attrition in the extreme American dystopia also places women in cohorts of those who are fertile – known as handmaids who don red habits to project their fertility as women who can bear children in the world.

The adverse sees other women not designated as handmaids as caregivers who in many cases carry less worth than handmaids.

Although the series has continued its dominance as one of the most popular shows in the streaming giantâ€s catalog – having won 15 Emmys in 54 total nominations – Barrettâ€s confirmation is not the first time detractors have taken to demonstration while dressed in the now widely-recognized getups.

Democratic vice presidential nominee Kamala Harris, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, slammed the panel for carrying out what she called an “illegitimate” process to confirm Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court before Election Day, while warning President Trumpâ€s nominee for the high court will “undo” the legacy of the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Harris, D-Calif., who participated in the first day of Barrettâ€s Senate confirmation hearings remotely, began her opening statement by criticizing Chairman Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., for bringing “together more than 50 people to sit inside a room for hours while our nation faces a deadly airborne virus.”

“This committee has ignored commonsense requests to keep people safe—including not requiring testing for all members—despite a coronavirus outbreak among senators of this very committee,” Harris said, indirectly referencing Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah, who tested positive, and has since recovered, from the novel coronavirus. Lee attended the hearing in person on Monday.

Harris said the hearing “should have been postponed” and called the decision to carry on as planned “reckless” and said it puts Capitol Hill officials, workers and aides “at risk.”

Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett was showcased just how qualified she is to be a judge during Sen. John Cornyn's line of questioning during her second day of confirmation hearings.

"Most of us have multiple notebooks and books and things like that in front of us. Can you hold up what youâ€ve been referring to in answering our questions?"

Barrett held up the only notepad she had.

"Is there anything on it?" Cornyn asked.

"The letterhead that says United States Senate," Barrett replied.

In other words, Barrett had been answering tough questions for hours, and with many hours to go, about potential rulings, Supreme Court precedents, and her past rulings and opinions all without needing extra help.
