We've talked about this endlessly.  Go to the front page and you'll see almost 50 per day avatar listed as here logged on and reading.  You can't make people post.    Guys like Pale or some others just quit and I've sent emails to them and asked.  Nope.

We have over 10 on right now.  Either our topics don't inspire any conversation and are too limited in scope to not cover couple which spawn posts, or we have posters who like to just read and not interact.  There are many who have been coming here daily since our inception in 2019 and have never made a post.  Where is ROBBERBOB?  He left the day I asked his opinion on Trump.

it really is interesting.....we've added dozens just in the last couple months, but none that post. I wish they would, but maybe my ease in putting my opinion out there is just because I've done it for 20 years now.....maybe not everyone is comfortable putting an opinion out for it to be challenged. TBH, I've grown thru doing it.

You hit a big component of this and that is does your post make sense, do you want it challenged?  Will you respond?  Will you feel inadequate?  Is the topic that much of interest to you?  I know this for sure in talking with some I know personally who come here.

not everyone is comfortable having their worldview challenged. I was much less so once upon a time. This board(over 6 iterations of it) has beaten that desire for comfort out of me. Which I find is not a bad thing.

We did.  I confess to my role in that.  I would feel bad from time to time, and typically when I did, he would instigate something, and my shame would melt away.
