What general discussion boards would not have these types of rules? The rules here are the least strict of any I post at.

Yeah, I mean if they made a rule that says that you cannot post from China, it would be pretty easy for most of us to follow. It wouldn't be very restrictive to the rest of us unless we had a VPN or whatever. But it would also clearly be a "ChinaBuck" rule, and to suggest otherwise would require a lot of mental gymnastics.

I've been kicked out of better places than this. And there's quite the plethora of websites I can't access, even with a VPN. Including this site at the beginning. I've learned to get along with the hand I get dealt. No one needs to listen to me whining. Why would they want too?

In what way was I whining? I was not bemoaning anything. 

As to living in China, I have good and bad experiences. I've actually found it more of a challenge living here than up North Capitol Street in DC in the early 80's where my roommates and I looked a little different than all of our neighbors. 

I'm an old farmboy where the overwhelming majority of folks were white. But then I've been thrust into places that are very different. You learn to cope. When I was 18 I had a Summer job and I was the only white guy in maintenance department. So I made friends with Mr. Waldo Peppers. Fantastic guy, and he stuck up for me, being the young and dumb numskull that I was. When I was in DC, I made friends with a neighbor old Mrs. Johnson, originally from Georgia. She taught this old farmboy (she had been a farmgirl 50+ years earlier) how to live in a dense urban environment. And over here in China, I usually make friends with local small shop and restaurant owners.

I just quickly skimmed through this thread and saw that there was some sort of rule against scantily clad women, and it was instigated by you?  I don't even care if that conversation was meant as a joke.  Zig, if anyone is angling for a nice little time out here it's Ala.  I think a nice 24 hour ban will give himself some time to reflect and think about what he either actually did here or even had the audacity to even joke about.  

I have to say, as I sit here and type I am shocked and appalled that this may have actually even been considered as a rule.  

For the record, here is the "Don't be Brutus" rule in all of its glory. 


6. No Pornographic/Lewd/Obscene Material nor racist comments, slurs, innuendo nor pictures to mock a race.

Yep, all of this in one rule, implemented AFTER I had already been removed. lol. Just in case there is actually another human being on Earth that could possibly generate the need for a rule with this exact wording.

  I'll be here running this place taking the slings and arrows and ALLOWING within the parameters of decency and good decorum opinions which some say they can't make.....but are currently making pretty much against me and minorities in this thread.  I keep this place open for all to be either happy or bitch about not being happy enough.   Bottom line is some would complain no matter what.
