Phase two (phase one was the prevalence of debit/credit cards and online shopping) in going totally cashless.  Pretty soon every purchase you make will be known and thoroughly examined.  Iâ€ll just throw it out there now, all for our own good/safety.  Itâ€s all about stopping crime.  Ahem. Â

This is true. My daughter works at a bank. They are limiting how much they have and can give out. I also heard today from a good friend, tho not verified, that Kroger is not giving change back, supposedly it goes back on your debit card.

The dollar is called a note for a reason. SCOTUS ruled that once a person deposits money into a bank account the bank actually owns the notes. The dollar is a debt instrument.
Last trip to Thailand the hotel restaurant did not take cash. It also informed that it will be going digital in 2021. It won't be taking credit cards at all. Only a quick QR scan will be accepted. Covid is being used to scare people from using paper money.
DC is a symptom, not the cause. The cause is basic voter stupidity and economic ignorance.

Stop printing pennies and nickels. It cost more to produce than what they are worth. I would go as far as eliminating dimes also. I will never put a penny in my pocket again. I use debit card for 95% purchases.

Even the tiniest of purchases at the tiniest of hole in the wall stores use WeChat, some places now only accept WeChat or Alipay, they won't even take credit cards.
