The chance of becoming a victim of either violent or property crime in Wilmington is 1 in 28. Based on FBI crime data, Wilmington is not one of the safest communities in America. Relative to North Carolina, Wilmington has a crime rate that is higher than 84% of the state's cities and towns of all sizes.
AND that figure includes the fines of students with open containers and partying in Wilmington.  I'll take my chances there over Chile.

I don't think "unpaid fines" are part of the violence or property crimes they are referring to.

Who said unpaid?  I said fines and drunken activity is big part of what your narrative wishes for.   In fact it makes up a lot of it.  There were 9 murders there for 100,000 people in each of last couple years....you go and enjoy Chile.

I don't think fines and drunken activity are violence and property crimes.  Wilmington was ranked the 78th most dangerous city.  Depending on how they deal with the growing gang and drug problem, it could get worse very quickly.  Doesn't matter to me one way or the other.  Louisville was considered one of the safest cities in the country and less than 10 years later it is now considered one of the most dangerous because black gang and drug related violence was allowed to grow.  Things are completely out of control in those areas now.

Do you hang out with Siesta lol? Does he cut your grass?
Anyway, I am interested in your perspective on one thing. You're wrong with about everything you say. But you're a solid poster. Are you embarrassed at all to be philosophically aligned with a butt munch like this guy? Does it give you any pause about your worldview?
Iâ€m not familiar with that guy, other than a few of the swipes heâ€s taken at Trump and a few of youse guys. So, no it doesnâ€t bother me that you think I resemble him (or anyone else). I know who I am.

Iâ€m super liberal. I donâ€t want the government, or you, in any of my business but I do realize that civilization requires some compromise, so I mostly respect their laws and norms. I live and let live. And Iâ€ll let God sort it out, in the end.
Sounds like you essentially like me, except I wasn't scared of orange man like you.

Congratulations you helped elect someone who's going to take away our individual freedoms.

You sound like the guys from 2008. They didnâ€t lose any freedoms then, either. Allowing others the freedom you enjoy doesnâ€t infringe on yours, unless you let it. Freedom to discriminate isnâ€t listed in the bill of rights.

Yeah well I like the 2nd amendment, Joe and the dems have promised to infringe on it.

I like low taxes, but they're promising to raise everyone's taxes.

I like being able to leave the house and I loath masks, joe has promised to give us nationwide lockdowns.

If those things happen will you still call us crazy?

I don't know.  Do you call Obama's demagoguery against police that has led to more and more attacks and assassinations of police officers a freedom enhancement?  Did the rise and popularization of a violent, Marxist, racist, black hate group like BLM under Obama's guidance make the country more free?

Again, you are entitled to your opinion.  I've been there and checked it out.   GANGS?   lol.  Yes, property  crimes are from kids in college there down at the bars drunk, etc.   Breaking in cars in some neighborhoods on Nun St and Ann st happens.   This is included with property crimes.  I've stayed there, walked the streets in town at night late, been in the bars, and never one time was close to being accosted nor saw crimes.  I stayed right downtown on front street and watched horse drawn carriages, people eating outside, people walking the streets....was great.   with 9 murders last couple of years I'll take my chances.  Been to beaches and all over.  Never an issue, but it is a resort/vacation area and people party and get crazy sometimes.  It happens.  My property will be gated community so I'm not real concerned there either.

of interest:
The racial composition of the city was: 73.5% White, 19.9% Black or African American, 6.1% Hispanic or Latino American, 1.2% Asian American, 0.5% Native American, 0.1% Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander.

Yeah, gun sales were surely dampened 2008-2016. Right? Oh no, they werenâ€t.

You like low taxes but you also apparently like profligate spending. I mean you never questioned Trumps spending. Congratulations on your economic unsoundness. And if you make over $250,000 a year congratulations on that too. Otherwise, how are you going to reconcile the spending with the revenue.

Like I said, you are free to move to Wyoming and not wear a mask but civilization has requirements. No shitting in the streets, no ***** with the neighbors and no inflicting your germs on the neighbors, either. The horror of wearing a mask? You wouldnâ€t last 5 minutes as a minority in America if thatâ€s the level of infringement that bothers you.

Look, I hope you made a great choice and do well there.  The point is there are much safer places to live in the world than the average American city.

Gun sales exploded under Obama precisely because he attempted to pass gun control laws and would have without the GOP Senate and House stopping him.  He tried to use executive orders and federal regulations to impose more gun control and was overruled by the courts.  Obama was a piece of ***** who did much to set up the riots and violence of today.  The one thing he knows how to do is agitate and "community organize".

Still free. Obamaâ€s been gone for 4 years.

extremism has always been the exception not the rule. You scared of BLM?  Iâ€m not. Iâ€m more afraid of random violence (which is not really) than BLM. But then Iâ€m not a racist who lives in a shithole city.

And police are now under attack more than ever and many cities will never recover from the BLM/antifa riots, a movement completely initiated by Obama.
