I've never been so sure of something with absolutely no proof to back up my position, but I find it hard to believe that Tyson wasn't juicing or on something crazy when he burst onto the scene circa 86--89. The man looked almost super human when he was landing some of those shots.

Funny you should say Wilt as I give strong consideration to Bill Russell

has to still be #1 , Roberto Duran with 41 Straight Wins and Championship Belts across many Divisions fighting a who's who of Boxers of his Era had a overall more impressive career than Ali, Floyd Mayweather like him or not is 50-0 and still actively planning fights, Julio Ceasar Chavez won 89 straight Professional Fights

Soccer - Pele
Since you put alot of emphasis on boxing I would like to throw out the Marvelous One. Marvelous Marvin Hagler
Football is a tough one I would be fine with Joe Montana or Jerry Rice Jim Brown and Walter Payton.

You know you are a bad ass when a video compilation of your knockout combos is over 20 minutes long.Â

Duran and Hagler were both great great fighters in a era of great fighters.

Floyd Mayweather should never be in the conversation imo... an unblemished record doesn't indicate the greatness of a fighter.
Over 50 Fights like i said say what you want.
Unless you actually followed Roberto Duran's career like i did from the 1st time he was ever on TV on
the Wide World of Sports on Saturday Afternoons to the 1st Pay per view fights , and knew the circumstances of the no mas fight you truly then don't understand the greatness of Roberto Duran.
From Estaban Jesus to Sugar Ray and Marvin Hagler.
Those are just the fighters who had careers as distinguished as Ali's , Still no match for Rocky M's

Mike was 12yrs old and a 190lbs when he met Cus and Teddy Atlas... start about 5 minute mark.

Mike Tyson made me quit watching boxing. That man was so bad ass that when I went to watch his fights I would cringe at the thought he would literally kill his opponent. That is how hard he it. Â
He had limted self control in the day and whoever took over after Cuss Amato died did not understand that. Again Cuss had him as a boy and they had him as an adult. Could you imagine what his career could have been? He would have been the GOAT of all sports.

Yeah, Boxing was not a career that you wanted to pursue in the late 80s/early 90s.

Watched to about the 23 min mark. His speed was ridiculous. Â
Once he matured as a fighter he was landing what looked like super human shots. Maybe I was just witnessing a one in a million guy and didn't appreciate it like I should have. Those shots though could be ridiculous.Â
I picked Michael Spinks over him in 1988.  Woops!
I said Ryan Leaf would be a better pro QB than Peyton Manning. Double Woops!
I said Donald Trump had no chance in 2016. Â

If there was such a thing as an all time great draft and I had first pick for the three major sports to start teams, I would select:
Football -Â Dan Marino
Basketball - Kareem Jabbar
Baseball - Sandy Koufax

Hard to argue with it           but I will try.  By the way if it were politics I would call that a balanced ticket.
Marino- Never won the big one. Could be a victim of his team but could be lack of leadership in the big moments.
Jabba,  Not even considered the best center of the Lakers franchise. He won more titles than Wilt but he never went against the same Celtics team that Wilt went up against
Koufax-Â Â Injuries hurt his career.
Seriously though 3 solid picks.
