Couldn't post at home this morning because, for whatever reason, the wifi isn't allowing my phone or laptop to hop on. Â Now according to my devices, the wifi signal is there. Â Yet... Â bubkis. Â My kids can get on with their crap, but the old man appears to be SOL. Â I'm out for a bite right now using public wifi. Â
Earlier, when I was clicking around trying to resolve the situation, I noticed something about a DNS situation (which I have no idea on the meaning). Â Thoughts? Â Again, my devices are seeing the wifi. Â The wifi icon is full go.
Did you have your device "Forget" the WiFi network and then re-add it?

Are you saying I shouod do that, or that I may have inadvertently done it and that's what's causing the problem?

You didnâ€t flip to airplane mode did you? Iâ€d turn off your device and then back on.

My "Living Will" states that if I am comatose for more than 36 hours, unplug me.
For ten seconds, and then plug me back in.

The WiFi was still working because it's simply using the login (correct) and issuing (dhcp) IP's. The DNS is what turns IP numbers into letters. It's easier to recall google.com than 172.217.12.206. When you rebooted the modem it also reissued the WAN DNS IP which allowed you to see the internet again. It never left, if you had types in
http://172.217.12.206Â Â google would have shown up.
In Linux I would have cleared the DNS cache and all would have been good.
