Israel, the next South Africa?

The ME needs Israel for many reasons:  The saner Islamic nations need Israel as a stabilizing force in the region so they aren't eaten alive by their insane cousins.  The insane Islamic nations need Israel as the devil they can point to to keep the masses off their back as to why their lot in life sucks.  It's not our fault (that we've driven this nation into the ground), it's the Jews!  This delicate balance has been working like clockwork since 1948.

Israel is the only democracy in the ME, and a staunch US ally. Apartheid era SA was a bunch of racist pieces of ***** on the white side. Now the ANC is racist on the black side Any comparison of the two is absurd.

The similarities are clear and obvious to someone intelligent and rational.  Both highly developed Western style democracies with independent intelligent people, both hated by the world like no other countries ever have been, and both surrounded by millions of third world parasites wanting to take them over.

Israel and Saudi Arabia actually cooperate quite a bit behind the scenes, against Iran. You are absolutely right how ME regimes use Israel as a distraction to the masses. Egypt has to play nice w/ Israel b/c of $1 billion or so they get in military aid every year as a result of the Camp David accords-if they don't play nice, they lose their toys, and they know this-and have acted as an honest broker between Israel and the Palestinian crazies.

Total absurdity.  They built a civilized country out of nothing just like Israel.  They knew the only way they would survive as a civilized country was to do exactly what they did and they have been proven right.  Many blacks in South Africa today will say they lived better under apartheid than they do today under repressive black Marxist rule.  Black agitators, along with the foolish guilt ridden nations of the West destroyed South Africa with propaganda and we see the same thing today in America with false claims of victimization by blacks and their leaders.  They claim America and Israel are evil.  S/A was not an evil imperialist totalitarian country like the Soviet Union or China and to say they were is the height of lunacy.  The Left will try to destroy Israel just like they destroyed South Africa and Rhodesia.
