This kid was primed for big fall.  I hope it's only spring.

IF it's not a clean tear and just a rip then he'll return by fall.  I tore mine and it healed in about 2 months to where I was running again.

Ohio State will be without running back Master Teague for spring practice. Teague, a redshirt sophomore, was added to the Buckeye status report on Tuesday, one day after the Scarlet and Gray began spring practice. Teague did practice on Monday, when the session was open to the media, but did not take the final several reps with the first team while Ohio State worked on the hurry-up offense.
Sources told Bucknuts that Teague suffered an Achilles injury late in the first spring practice.
After the departure of J.K. Dobbins, who rushed for 2,003 yards and 21 touchdowns last year before declaring early for the NFL Draft, Teague was expected to step in as the Buckeyes' starting running back in 2020. As a redshirt freshman a year ago, Teague rushed for 789 yards and four touchdowns on 135 carries. He was named third-team All-Big Ten by both the conference's coaches and the media.

The news of Teague's unavailability leaves the Buckeyes in a tough spot for spring practice. The Scarlet and Gray are already without sophomore Marcus Crowley who suffered a knee injury late in the game against Maryland on Nov. 9 and was listed as unavailable on the initial spring status report that was distributed on Monday. Senior Demario McCall made the move from running back to wide receiver this offseason, but head coach Ryan Day said he could move back to running back if necessary.
That now is almost a certainty.
"Demario can still do that (play running back), though," Day said after the first spring practice on Monday. "We're just starting him out at slot and we can always bring him back. He has that skill set. It's something that we've always tried to find that role for him where he can be a running back and also be a matchup problem for teams like that.
"It didn't quite play out like that. And I think a lot had to do with how well J.K. was playing. It was hard to take J.K. off the field last year. And same thing with K.J. (Hill) We got into a rhythm a little bit of K.J. was in the slot and then we were getting some 12 personnel. So we never got quite that far with Demario. But we're going to -- this spring he's going to play some running back. He's going to line up at slot and do both of those things."

Ohio State has three-star running back Miyan Williams from Cincinnati, Ohio signed as part of the 2020 class. Williams will enroll in the summer and help add depth to the running back room. Crowley is also expected back for the 2020 season.
"We're going to get Marcus back before the season starts. And then we have Miyan coming in," Day continued. "Once we get to the summer, we'll be whole. But, yeah, we're one injury away from a little bit of a crisis right now but in the end when it comes to September we're going to be okay."

Is anyone planning on coming to Eugene for the game on Sept. 12?

Two questions:

1. What is going on at Clemson? What is Dabo selling?
WR Troy Stellato says Clemson is a "really special place".
CB Jakailin Johnson, Clemson visit opens his eyes.
Both are "crystal ball" to OSU.

2. Is Alford here next year if he whiffs his 3rd straight year signing an elite RB? The 3 targeted:
#2 RB... Treveyon Henderson
#4 RB... Donovan Edwards
#6 RB... Even Pryor

2021: ?????
2020: scrambled to flip Miyan Williams from Iowa State.
2019: scrambled to flip Marcus Crowley from Miami.

I've been wondering that for a while now.

Tony Alford is a solid coach.....he's not going anywhere.

Dabo has had an amazing streak of consistency in the program down there. Little turnover of coaches, great continuity. That goes a long way in building a culture. I believe that is why Gene Smith pushed that theme so hard when Urban left.
