Those lyrics really sound familiar to me. Â
I'm gonna let 'em percolate in my brain for a bit and see if I can correctly answer a damn lyric question for once.

The song may be difficult but I would think someone would have the band by now. Eno produced the album. Adrian Belew played with them during that time. Toni Basil choreographed the video for the hit from the album(different song) that was an early iconic MTV video. If someone gets the band and album I'll give it to them.

(Come to)
Drive them away

I think I know the band, but don't know the title or album it's off of

I just deleted a post where I likely inadvertently gave away the answer after I did some digging on Belew. One of the unrelated things I mentioned was that when you guys mentioned Peter Gabriel, Paul Simon popped into my head. Sure enough, I saw that Belew worked with him as well. Small world. Â
Anyway, I'm out of this one now. Frankly I don't think I would have ever got it anyway. The lyrics really seemed to ring a bell though, but that turned out to likely be a false positive. Â
Good stuff 3G, keep these toughies coming. Â

My favorite song of theirs. Same album. Video choreographed by Toni Basil.Â

I'll accept the album for the answer. I've given up the band above.

I'm late to the current question. My roommate at Robert Gray Army Airfield was a huge Talking Heads fan. He would play every song they made. The song in question 'Listening Wind'Â was played by a crew chief on our way to Afghanistan. He was Talking Heads fan, too.
I listened to classical music - Tchaikovsky mostly - and Genesis to relax me. Once I jumped or the ramp lowered my adrenal glands didn't need any help producing adrenaline.
This was a tough but answerable question. The guy who mentioned Peter Gabriel was spot on.

Hey welcome to the thread. It is Listening Wind off the album Remain in Light from 1980.Â
Put up a question.

One hit wonder from the 70s. The song was not what most thought it was about. Name the song and the band.
And you said you was never intending
To break up our scene in this way
But there ain't any use in pretending
Hint: It was actually about a bassist being poached by another band. Then, when confronted, denied it.

How Long Has This Been Going On? (I think that's the title), by Ace? I believe Paul Kerrick on vocals. Later on of Squeeze and Mike and the Mechanics fame.

Someone else post a question. It took me long enough to post the only lyrics question Scar got correct.Â

Since no one stepped up I guess I'll go ahead and ask.
Austin City Limits debuted/aired on PBS on Jan 2nd 1975. Who was the show's very first act? Today ACL plays all kinds of acts, but in the early days I think it was mostly country, so there's your hint.
