I remember that song now. Not well obviously. Not sure I would have been able to ID Judas Priest as the band had you asked who did Turbo Lover. I got the band off the Dylan clue and the year. Not sure I deserve to be up I'm sure some big hair metal fan would've got that one eventually.

Name the guitarist and the make and model of his guitar.
Kind of a silly question but I've always wondered why more don't use that model of guitar. It sure sounded great in this guy's hands.

I think that is Leslie West and I believe that is a Gibson Les Paul Jr.

Morehead you believe correctly. That is Leslie West of Mountain playing a Gibson Les Paul, Jr. at Woodstock. A lot of people may think it was a Les Paul but the controls and pickup as well as the pick guard give it away. Also doesn't have the trapezoidal inlays on fretboard. The tone and sustain he got out of that simple guitar originally made for beginners was monumental. No switches, tone and volume controls with one single coil pickup. It was his preferred guitar back then.
You are up.
Enjoy.

Damn, that was an impressive performance. That bass player was grooving on his viola. West has outstanding tone coming out of that P90.

Maybe too obscure. Not a hit. No video. Although a song on the same album was an iconic early MTV video. Groundbreaking album production.Â
Weirdly prophetic song about terrorism given the year.Â
1980 band and song.
Mojique sees his village from a nearby hill
Mojique thinks of days before Americans came
He sees the foreigners in growing numbers
He sees the foreigners in fancy houses
He thinks of days that he can still remember...now.
Mojique holds a package in his quivering hands
Mojique sends the package to the American man
Softly he glides along the streets and alleys
Up comes the wind that makes them run for cover
He feels the time is surely now or never...more.

Sounds like something Peter Gabriel would do

Sounds like something Peter Gabriel would do You know that is very intuitive of you. This band was doing polyrhythmic stuff at this time just like Gabriel was. There is a bit of connection through King Crimson. Gabriel's long time bassist Tony Levin is King Crimson's bassist. The band in question used one of King Crimson's guitarists at that time.

I have no idea right now. Was it Belew or Fripp playing guitar? Or neither ?

The song and album was produced by Brian Eno and was pretty groundbreaking. It kind of followed on his work on the band's leader on My Life in the Bush of Ghosts.

A couple of videos on the same album were choreographed by David Byrne and Toni Basil. There was no video for the song in question. Probably should have asked about the hit video from the album but … already asked about the song above.

Sounds like something Peter Gabriel would do Well I just learned something. Peter Gabriel covered this song in 2010. Much different instrumentation. So indeed a very good guess.
