Okay Iâ€m back. I feel relieved.
Blue Bayou?

Iâ€m thinking that was more of a mid to late 70s tune, but it wouldnâ€t be the first time I was wrong

It's a ballad. 1970. That's before Blue Bayou and You're No Good.
It was on her second album called Silk Purse. Recorded in Nashville and pretty much country. The song was a crossover hit though. After the album she put together a touring band to go on the road. Glen Frey, Bernie Leadon, Randy Meisner, and Don Henley.
This is a different song from Silk Purse.

Well Some one put one up. I thought someone would get that off the lyrics anyway. I've seen clips of her doing it on Johnny Cash's show and the Midnight Special pilot. I was never a big fan but I don't think too many, if any, pop stars could do that song justice the way she does.

Vocals on that are terrific.   Cool

Fwiw, you gave me a little bit of a history lesson here as well.  All these years I just assumed the Eagles dudes were the Stone Ponys.  Guess not.

Totally forgot about that tune.  Great stuff.

Man, that girl was first in line in the looks and talent department.  That's not really a very common combo.  I mean real talent, not just ass shaking to an electronically generated snare.  She had it all in spades.   Cool

She had an ear for backing talent. After her backing band went on to become the Eagles she worked with Andrew Gold and Waddy Wachtel along with a slew of great musicians.
On this Midnight Special clip you  have Andrew Gold on guitar, Skunk Baxter playing congas, Little Feat drummer Richie Hayward, and Clydie King on backup vocals.

Would've liked to put up a question on this song, but I wouldn't even know how to word it.

Here's a fairly easy one to hopefully get this rolling again. Title and artist to this '72 song.

Well I've seen couples holdin' hands
With that glazy look in their eyes
And I've seen lovers rollin' round in bed
Screamin' as if they're gonna die

I googled the answer. I then played the song on youtube. I would never have guessed the same dudes who were popular in the early 80's.
The America, and the American Military, that you once knew is gone.

If I get this right it will be because of Lrrps' remark.  America?

edit: I was originally gonna say Hall and Oates, but I don't think they had a hit til like 74 or 75.

If it is America seen them a few years ago. They can barley carry a tune now. They have Christopher Cross sing with them at times just to sound good.

Not America. This group was formed in 1967 in Champaign, Illinois.

Well I've seen women who cross their legs
Before they sit down to the table
And I've seen women who look to the sky
Screamin' Lord I believe in the Bible
And I've seen hookers dancin' through Times Square
With their heads held up so high
