If we could get them in a moment of honesty, I wonder where their line is. What action in their opinion would warrant deportation?

You're never going to get an honest answer. The Obama administration deported more then Trump including DUI cases. He doesn't care. The liberals have decided the bad orange man wants to deport people so now it's bad no matter what. So pols like Biden parrot the party line because the base will eviscerate him otherwise. Likely he has no actual personal thoughts on the matter at all.

They are involved in a lot of "hit and runs" around these parts.

When you say “these parts”, I presume you mean the area limited to the 50 states of the union?

I think there are some crimes that are deal breakers.  Anything involving violence, anything involving kids and any type of theft.  You can probably add most any felony.  DUI's, speeding, red light running, etc should probably have a point system where accumulating enough points, over x period of time, will get you booted.

so, just being illegal isn't enough to get you booted.  You have to prove you are a really bad illegal.

What's the point of having laws if we aren't going to abide by them?

Not for me.  It's hard to fault good people who just want to improve their lives and are will to risk their life for the chance to come to America to work.

Talking point of the left.

These folks are here to live off government programs. Only a drunk would think otherwise.

When you overstay your visa or enter the country illegally you've broken more than enough laws to be deported. Certainly you should receive no public benefits and shouldn't be allowed legal employment. The lack of respect they have for our country is enough. When I travel I take care to know the laws and enter and exit countries legally. It's a matter of respect not just fear of consequence. It's their land, their home.

There are some that try to live off of government programs.  Clearly the solution is to make ALL government programs unavailable to illegals.  However, you are completely wrong about your assertion that all of them, or even a majority, are here for a free ride.  Mexican illegals are some of the hardest working people you'll see and they actively seek out work.  They go door to door looking for work.  I've spent $20k hiring one specific illegal to basically build my backyard from scratch.  He hires his illegal buddies to help and they do incredible work.  Mexicans have no shame in standing outside of Home Depot or corner stores looking for work.

The mothers and kids stay in rentals paid for by section 8. They get WIC and EBT for food. They get medicaid. The fathers - who are not to be in the house - work under the table. They work for dudes who bypass e-verify to save some coin. The same dudes complain when these illegals steal their work.

The guy down the road thought like you until the illegals broke an underground pipe. They took off and never were seen again. The dude was stuck paying $15k to have the township come out and fix what the illegals broke. They put bogus signs on their vehicles with fake I.D. #'s and LLC/INC burfle.

I was returning from a trip to Ohio. I was driving north on Rt.1 - a one way road. A van filled with illegals - I know they were illegals because the van they were in pulled over to avoid hitting me and all occupants ran off leaving the van.
