Connected Lighting
Zigbee is the language of connected lighting in homes and businesses. It is in innovative products that provide new ways to use light, improve comfort and convenience, and save energy.
Zigbee allows consumers easy-to-use control control over all their LED fixtures, light bulbs, remotes and switches. Products based on Zigbee let consumers change lighting remotely to reflect ambiance, task or season, all while managing energy use and making their homes greener.
Philips Hue uses Zigbee to deliver new lighting experiences and give you control over your lighting from anywhere in the world. See Zigbeeâ€s Connected Lighting standard at work below:

Bump.  Hoping the Zigmeister gives us the backstory to his handle.  Pitch, what's yours? Sounds like it has potential.  Mine is obviously self explanatory.

Mine originated on the Scout.com sites.  At the time, my kids were obsessed with the movie Rise of the Guardians, so I watched it at least once a week for months. One of the characters was Pitch Black.

Not very exciting.

Thought maybe you were blind.  That or you were raised in a foster home where they locked you in a pitch black box and dumped feces and urine on you or something.  That or you saw a movie.   Tongue

Which is where I came across the term; setting up some smart bulbs for my house.  I've done it probably a dozen times, but the third option for bulb type caught my attention: smart bulb, smart bulb (bluetooth), smart bulb (zigbee).
