Me here neither.  I think I saw where they beat a team like 13-0 (I wasn't even sure that was part of it, but now I'm thinking it was) and they were celebrating each score like they just split the atom.  Just acting like complete jackasses (I saw highlights).  Good thing that U-15 boys team could help bring 'em back to earth a bit.

I don't think it was intentional, just ignorance or lack of attention in the moment.

For me, the best thing is to ignore folks like this, and Kapernick etc. If they are ignored, they lose all attention and power.

We had friends in Cincy who loved Obama and they bought two Portuguese water dogs because the Obamas had one. Before that, they had "regular dogs", rescues. But they wanted to emulate the Obamas because I guess they thought they were worth emulating. I never said anything of course. The guy was very low key about it, the wife was very enthused about politics and I think he mostly went along to get along. We never talked politics when it was just the two of us, which was fine with me.

I personally think folks get too bent out of shape about things that happen on the "national stage" and really don't matter, to me anyway.

Evidently a lot has been said regarding this, because the twitter of it is gone!

Well, you can get more womenâ€s footie. ESPiN picked up rights on NWSL. Youâ€ll get a chance to see my daughter as she is a ball girl for the NC Courage, with 4 USWNT players on their World Championship squad.

Sports are relative and yâ€all are nuts comparing women to men or boys. In what sport can women and men compete?  None. These women are best in th world, American men suck balls. As to money, women will rack it up soon as they sell in the states.

It was good entertainment and I loved seeing locals thrive. While MR was trolling old white guys, Crystal Dunn was the true MVP of the tourney. The US so outmatches the world they set Rapinoe up. She scored unneeded goals against Thailand and PKs that the worldâ€s best ceded to her to take. The media ate it up, all while Rapinoe was actually one of the weeker US players.

Ill watch Abby Dahlkamper any day, any time. Iâ€d post her SI swimsuit pics if I could. Scarfabio should agree she is hot.

It's soccer. It's girl's soccer. If your kid isn't playing and you are watching you are a tranny or mentally ill. Maybe a European-same diff. NTTAWWT.

some people enjoy watching Indy league baseball as well......I saw a bit of the women's world cup and it wasn't near the quality of men's soccer, which I can barely enjoy. Even at the top levels. To each their own, but the 'equal pay for equal play' isn't truly a good argument as the play isn't equal.

It's not really about equal play, it's about equal revenue.  If they bring in the same revenue, I'm fine with the same pay.

If they are generating the same revenue they have a case. I've heard top women pro tennis players often make more than men. But then again, who cares? They can negotiate and get what they can. Whatever.

I saw somewhere they generate more revenue than the men, I did not read the article, it was in WashPo I think.

You're right, if so, negotiate, which they are doing. At the end of the day, you get paid what they want to pay you for what you produce.

I heard there was similar revenue as well...... This article argues otherwise. Maybe Walsh is playing with the numbers to make a point. Or maybe other arguments for equal pay are.....

In calculating "revenue", a person COULD include Nike sales of jerseys etc. which of course should be left out.

Why?

Sponsor money could easily be split as it relates to merch if Nike deals are not split up already between USWNT and USMNT. If women sell more it would be more evidence they should make more.

This seems right, though ratings have been huge for this cup so some of the lack of revenue falls on FIFA for not capitalizing on it. The problem for them is like all sports, current performances dictate future earnings. They are on a 2015 pay scale. 2019 should put them ahead of the guys.
