Cutting interest rates will tend to devalue a currency. The dollar of course is impacted by other factors as well.
Maybe we could borrow a lot of money to keep government running too.

SCOTUS ruled the banks own the dollar. The dollar is a debt note. It's worthless.
The America, and the American Military, that you once knew is gone.
Currency was never meant to be a "store of wealth". Some have argued the $USD was “fiat†when its value was arbitrarily pegged to gold at $35/oz and that "fiat" system was replaced by the floating exchange rate monetary system.

As I recall, when it was pegged to gold at $35, we could not own gold (other than in coins).
I read somewhere how much US currency is in circulation in countries outside ours and it was astounding. In places like Russia, the counterfeiters make fake US bills, not rubles.

During PGWI the best gig going was counterfeiting. Money was counterfeited in Europe and sold $10k counterfeited for $1k authentic. The individuals then spent the money all over Saudi Arabia and Kuwait buying gold and food. CID mentioned one guy buying a gallon of milk for $5 and getting $15 back from the counterfeit $20. He was caught with over $65k authentic USD.Â
The other moneymaking gig was prostitution. A female 'Butter Bar' was pimping out young enlisted women to G.I.'s returning from up north. She was busted with over $100k in cash. CID called her the 'Khobar Madam'

The term "Butter Bar" threw me for a second, I was pondering what kind of bar they would have there and why it would feature butter, seriously. I'm getting old and slow.

My bad, I normally put the actual rank next to the nickname. Sometimes, I forget not everybody knows some of the terms I post.
Note: For those wondering 'Butter Bar' is a term we used to describe 2nd Lieutenants.

I know the term, it just threw me in context. It also works for Ensigns of course.
I still wonder why a MAJOR General is outranked by a LIEUTENANT General.
And of course a Naval Captain outranks an Army/Marine Captain by a good stretch, just as a Naval LT outranks and Army LT. Who do they think the are anyway? We have far more Admirals than we have ships in the Navy.
