It is interesting to me that he held on until Easter.  

Every time I was asked to pray for the Pope at mass, I would pray that he would realize that socialism does not help the poor.

Yeah I was not a fan.  If your policies are to have others take care of the people who left their nations to come here that is fine.  However if you say nothing about the conditions that warranted those people to leave their lands,whether it be politics or drug overlords you are not addressing all of Gods desires, you are just shaming those who you feel are "the haves"

My husband went to mass today so that he could say a prayer of thanks that Francis is gone!  We are not fans either.

Agreed- it's one of the disagreements I've d had with catholicism in general. Praying to Mary? Asking forgiveness of your sins from a priest?
