Good game.  I thought the teams were evenly matched.  Scores were hard to come by and I thought the difference in the game was the cheap OSU TD at the end of the first half when Texas foolishly changed their defense and went to a wide open prevent that resulted in the score.  That was just too easy.  

Nothing "cheap" about that TD.  Great call that ripped the momentum from TX.  Definitely put more doubt in their minds.

Simmer down.  I just meant Texas gave it up too easy and they did.  That was a bad decision especially since their defense was working very well without going to a gimmick defense.

Before Henderson housed that I was bitchin’ about how defenses play great most of the game but always seem to have those end of half meltdowns.  As I was ranting about that Henderson immediately houses that thing and just like that we are back up by 7.

As an aside, on some of our early drives, I thought Howard was threading some major needles.  In the back of my head I figured a pick was inevitable.  Luckily he only threw the one.  Statistically speaking, Howard and Ewers had a very similar game.

Up until the strip scoop and score it seemed like Texas was having one of those games where anything close or questionable was going their way.  To be clear, I mean legitimately.  Knees were/weren’t down at critical moments by just a hair.  Ewers would flip balls out just before getting sacked, they’d recover their own fumbles, etc…. Factoring that in with the way we were racking up penalties, they looked set up to pull it out.  Man, that goal line stand was one for the books though.

Minus the mistakes on both sides both coaching and players I saw two very fast teams. I watched ND and PSU several times this season including the game on Thursday, and neither team has anywhere near the speed tOSU/TX have.

ND's best chance at winning is ball control and keep the ball out of tOSU's hands. To do this it will have to keep tOSU defense out of the backfield. I'm not sure it can do this. tOSU has 16 sacks in 3 playoff games. I'm guessing it will get 4 or more vs ND.

Agree with all this. Also, Texas’ WRs are just flat out much better than ND or PSU’s. ND is also banged up on the OL.

I might drive to Atlanta Sunday. It's only a 10 Hour drive, WTF. Got to get a ticket. This is where beast dog will come through for me, I just know he will because he's that type of guy.

We'll have to see if we can arrange some type of Nuthouse meet up before the game. Me, dzone, probably dkeener (who strikes me as a "where's there's a will, there is definitely a way" kind of guy). Anyone else?

And sorry dkeener, but my only connection came through for me and only me lol. I was actually stunned when he offered (which happened right after Sawyer ripped the heart out of the state of Texas). But the timestamp on my response text was literally one minute after his, so it didn't take me long!

Ohio St. opens as 9.5-point favorite over Notre Dame in CFP

Ohio State opened as a 9.5-point favorite over Notre Dame in the College Football Playoff National Championship presented by AT&T, per ESPN BET odds.

If that line holds, it would be tied for the second-largest spread in a CFP national championship game and the fourth largest in the CFP/BCS era. Georgia was a 13.5-point favorite against TCU in the 2022 national championship, while Alabama gave up 9.5 points against Ohio State to decide the 2020 campaign. Both favorites covered the spread in blowout fashion, combining for a cover margin of 63.
