Watching OU just take a 10-3 lead on Bama just before the half here. I didn’t realize OU has suffered through so many injuries. I think they lost 4 or all 5 starting Olineman going into the game tonight. 4 or 5 receivers too. Man, I just didn’t realize they were hit so hard.

17-3 now early in the second half. If Bama loses will they be out of the Bama invitational? I lmao when I looked at the playoff rankings. Looked like a contest to see how many SEC teams they could stuff into the top 12. All with 2 losses and people are talking about IU not even being ranked in the top 12? Gimmie a break.
As an aside, I wonder if Herbie got excited knowing he was gonna get to say the name Vennables as many times as he pleased tonight. Edit: Milroe just threw a pick 6. 24-3 OU now

Add Ole Miss to the SEC teams not going to playoff. Bama was playing like Bama the last three weeks. This just shows how good those Saban teams were to run thru the SEC. This season really is the season anyone can win it all. That shows the luck of tOSU. Best team on paper and suffers injuries galore. I still think tOSU makes a run for the title but the O-line might end up hurting them. Healthy team and I think tOSU runs away with it. I'm not sold on UGA either. Beck is having an awful season. ND has as good as shot as any of winning it all.

Agree. Wide open this year.
Kind of think these conference title games are a waste. Just name the team with the best record the conference champ and then move onto the playoff. Injuries tougher to manage through all these games now.

Army and Indiana showed why stats do not mean anything in sports. Indiana finally played a team with a pulse and got blown out. Army too. Army was the #2 scoring defense and last I looked ND had 49.
I'm not sold on tOSU's O-line, the pass rush vs good teams, and the corners but it's a year without a Santa Claus, so tOSU could still win it all. I think ND is playing like a top 4 team. It would smoke Indiana and PSU. Hopefully, they get one of the two in the Playoff. Indiana lucked out with both Ole Miss and Bama losing today. So did Clemson and SMU.

lol SEC. Bama just played a team without a pulse and got blown out. What does that say about them?

Yeah OU played with a glorified MASH unit, and barely had a semblance of a passing game and put the smack down on the Tide.
How many years does DeBoer get til the locals call for his head? Farrr DeBoer. Reminiscent of the Farrr Kewper days we all went through. Though I say our sample size was enough to justify a lot of the calls for his head.

Barring an epic team implosion next year-like FSU this year, DeBoer will get three seasons at Bama to make some serious noise, imo. The SEC didn’t do themselves any favors with their own expansion, they just made the league a lot tougher.

This isn't the SEC anymore and it isn't the Big 10 anymore either. Expansion was about either eating or being eaten. The entertainment corporations and professionalism have basically ruined college sports but most fans just don't realize it yet. I can't believe anyone still gets worked up and emotionally invested in any of this today. It's been turned into "sports/entertainment" almost like WWE. Remember the nWo? I can't wait until they go to subscription only channels trying to milk even more money out of it.

Also, players being paid above the table across the country now will spread out the competitive balance among the leagues. That said I figured it would give all the bluebloods a yuge advantage, but, early on in this process anyway, it seems to be giving smaller schools some talent as well. I say the jury is still out on the money angle, so we'll see. Lrrps mentioned ND above. With that QB transfer they have (from Duke, right?) they may very well be the legit dark horse of this playoff.
If the CFP has the same poll then Bama will make the playoff with a win vs Auburn. SMU/Miami loser will fall below Bama.
I saw an article in August where the author was trying to make the case for a 3 loss Bama to make the playoff. ESPN had something similar after the loss on Saturday. Hit the button before finishing. Big 12 winner will jump Bama. So, Bama might need UGA to lose to the winner of the aTm vs TX game.

Watch Fickell at Wisky. He has a 12-11 record in two seasons, and a possible bowl miss this season. I'm guessing 2 years tops and he is gone if he stays on the same trajectory. The problem for WI who better is available? Will it continue trying to recreate WI as a some spread offense or return to Wisky football and be happy with 8 or 9 win seasons with an occasional playoff berth?
