He anchored our line, Transfers Howard and Downs got the press and well deserved but MCCloughlin was a great get.
Will they flip Hinzman back to Center and go with Sevarise at left guard? Keep Hinsman and left guard and go with Padilla at C?
This blows.

I’m thinking Hinzman stays at G, and Padilla goes at C, but Siereveld has shown he can play well at G. Not happy, but not panicking. Michalski was just an absolute disaster at OT.

Lol.
True sophomore from my town. He was highly recruited but watching him play in hs I didn’t think he had the frame for a B1G Olineman. Athletic, but not what you would expect. Everyone wanted him though, so I’ll take the coaches’ opinions over mine.

So what's the tally of destruction up front so far, 2 starters and a backup at tackle? So we still have 3/5 of the season opening OL. I guess there's the silver lining.
One of the truest cliche's in sports, that I also utterly despise, is "injuries are part of the game." Well yeah, but it still sucks when you're losing manpower in relation to your opponent.
My next most hated cliche in sports would revolve around the OL getting smoked in a big game. Bringing up the fact we lost 2 top flight OL would be considered an "excuse" in some fans' minds. Usually the fans of the team that just beat you. Yeah, they're not excuses, they're reasons... you jackass.
Anyway, I think we will overcome these injuries. I look for some early deep throws in the passing game to get IU's defense back on their heels a bit. i.e. We're not just gonna impose our will right off the bat with a makeshift OL. Passing game will have to set up the running game IMO
Then there's THE GAME. Let me tell all you people that are overly confident to slow your roll a bit. This is a team with serious talent, especially up front. If this team gets a serviceable game out of their QB they could easily come into C-bus and beat us. I've watched them. Outside of QB they are NOT a dumpster fire. They have players. You get, say, a 17 for 28 for 180-230 yards passing and ZERO turnovers out of their QB to complement their running game? We aint gonna just show up and see these guys faint at the mere sight of J Smith. This is gonna be a fist fight.

We shall see how Day navigates this with staff. Its a challenge but great coaches find a way.

We do, everywhere but the O line. Anyway, we need someone to step up.

They blow outside of their tight end and d tackles. Losing our center hurts bad though, no doubt about it.

So they are going to go with Hinzan at Center and Severreid at LG. To me this is the move that makes sense. Severeid already started 2 games at LG and Hinzman was a Center all year last year. Honestly I do not think he was bad last year for a first year starter.
I have faith in this but they will still need to put a TE to help Jackson at left tackle.
Obviously the who thing can blow up OR the team can rally behind the new guys as they did in 14. Different position for sure but same mentality "need to pull together"

I've been to at least 2 B1G championship games. I know it sounds weird to not be specific, but I've been to a ton of OSU games over the years. I know for a fact I was at the 2013 title game where Sparty punk'd us. I can still see that ill fated 4th and 1 call when Braxton got stuffed.
The other game was against Wisconsin. I'm thinking 2017. That sound right? Definitely was NOT the 2014 beat down game.

13 players from James Madison are on Indiana. I was wondering what happened to the Dukes this season. Now, I know.
For all the stat followers Army has the 2nd rated scoring defense and will play ND in the Bronx. I'd be shocked if ND does not score 20+
Indiana is 10-0. It has played only 2 teams with a winning record - Washington and tOSU. Nebraska is .500. Indiana has the #7 scoring defense, #3 total defense. 2024 Indiana looks a lot like tOSU defenses the last 4 seasons until they played legit teams.
Indiana probably makes the playoff and will host an SEC team. Easy money. Same with PSU.
The America, and the American Military, that you once knew is gone.
