The highest ranked conference champions getting the top 4 auto bids is absolutely, staggeringly idiotic.  Look at the path Oregon is on.  The winner of OSU and Tennessee is your reward for the number one seed?  The people that set the rules, whether it be targeting or the playoff, are morons.  Guaranteed they will tweak this idiotic auto top 4 crap.  And if Oregon doesn’t win it all, their fans are gonna be b1tching about this idiocy for generations

Yup. Who you play should mean more than it did this year.

A schedule as bad as Indiana's has to be taken into consideration.

They played one team and crapped the bed. I wonder if the committee wanted a ND vs IN game for ratings? Maybe it looked at IN stats and fell for it like those who do for tOSU defensive stats vs cupcakes.

Probably so.  They do in-state matchups like this regularly in the basketball tournament.

OSU’s defense has been solid all year sans @ Oregon, which was a one point loss on the road.  They gave up one drive in their last game.  Which resulted in a FG.  They stoned PSU on the road.  They’ve kept teams out of the endzone as good as anyone all year.

IU's QB is an absolute statue.  Ridiculous.  I thought maybe we just caught 'em off guard or something with our game plan, but this kid CANNOT move.  Period.  How on earth did they win 11 games??????

They played teams worse than Irish

How did they beat UM who beat OSU who beat IU?

Because they're better than UM, and UM lives rent free in Ryan Day's head.

Michigan and Indiana appeared fairly evenly matched when they played.  The OSU loss to Michigan in terms of coaching ineptitude really gets put into perspective with this game.

About to turn this off.  I overestimated IU.  They are NOT good.  I'll eat the humble pie on this playoff berth.  Alabama probably would have been a better choice despite the 3 losses.  They were bad losses though, so it's hard to argue against them being left out.  Still though, IU is just...  not good.  Their defense isn't horrible, but their offense sure as hell isn't helping them any.

2 were bad but not Tennessee.

I haven't really been hearing about any positive vibes coming out of Ohio State going into this one.  Losing at home again wouldn't shock me at all.  Will Howard's inability to throw deep and our weakened OLine were exposed.

On the one hand I could see us getting hot and going on a run deep into the playoff, but I could also see an absolute face plant tomorrow night.

3 loss teams should not be in the playoffs. They he SEC is nothing special this year.

When McLaughlin went down that killed our season. You cannot lose your center, left tackle, and back up tackle. That being said, they send the hillbillies home with an L tonight.

I think there are 3 loss teams out there that are better than Indiana.  You really have to take everything into consideration if you want to get the best 12 teams.

Maybe so, but when you lose 3 times you lose that opportunity. Also, the SEC plays 1 less conference game than everyone else. They also sneak in a division 2 game before their end of the year rivalry games.
