He didn't "go down".  He's following standard DOJ policy.

Once Trump won the presidential election, that meant that his two federal criminal cases (this one and the classified documents case) would eventually go away, whether by lawyers in the current Justice Department or the next one moving to dismiss, or Trump potentially attempting to pardon himself. The DOJ also has a policy against charging and prosecuting sitting presidents. Smith already was reportedly planning on resigning before Trump, who vowed to fire Smith, took office.

Yes bamer, he got pwned, big time. He was given the responsibility of try to send Trump in prison in an attempt  to keep him from being re-elected President. He failed MISERABLY at accomplishing either of these goals. Maybe the largest pwning of any scumbag in the last few decades.

Trump’s not a sitting president…. Yet.

He got pwned because, among other things, his mere appointment was allegedly unconstitutional, etc…. and he’s a dirt bag that’s been punk’d in multiple other cases.

Unfortunately, a lot of tax money was wasted on this POS and his witch hunt.  Lawfare at its finest.

So why did they run an investigation on Trump even after he took office in 2017?

It was lawfare at its best.  And I’m glad he’s gone by virtue of the election results.

The “pwning” would have been failure across the board in court. We never got to that point. It was like a forfeiture, not a decisive victory.

Now one of the most important things that the new administration and probably Pam Bondi must do is investigate the entire episode and hold those involved accountable including Garland, Smith, Lisa Monaco and people like Bragg and fat Fanny in Fulton County.

I think there should be an investigation.
-collaboration between Fanny and the DoJ
-collaboration between Leticia James and the DoJ
-how the #3 guy at justice ended up in Braggs office
-etc

Yes.  This must be looked into.  Yesterday I heard Smith was informed to not leave the country via a letter from Chuck Grassley.  I know he’s not DOJ, but it shows that we’re not just gonna let bygones be bygones.

The fanatical left seized control of a political party, ran a puppet regime administration.  Yeah…. they went for the gold and were soundly punk’d by the electorate.  My faith in the American people soared after this election result.  Again,  not just because they voted Trump, but that voted against what the left was doing to this nation and its laws, traditions and its constitution.  Obama III flames out hard.  Let’s see if he stays in DC for the lovely vistas…   Rolleyes

They could have impeached and removed him from office and then prosecuted him after he left office.

It's fairly baffling that he wasn't charged with obstruction after he left office.

They could do that now.  They dropped these phony cases because Trump was elected and his AG would shut them down anyway.  Now they are scared of being prosecuted themselves and hopefully with good reason.
