It's amazing what happens to a team you replace one of the 5 worst coaches with a top 5 coach.
I don't give a rip about these NBA power ranking polls, bamer. OKC is damn good, we could be seeing them in multiple future NBA Finals. One edge we may have long term is we have an owner who will spend whatever it takes to win. Not sure they do.

What’s funny is that I’m that way about the college football power polls. They annoy me and I ignore them. For some reason I’m locked into the NBA one.
Gilbert has shown he’s willing to spend and spend a lot when the time is right

31-4 Cavs with showdown tonight with against the 30-5 Oklahoma Thunder. Both teams are very young. This is setting up to be the NBA's worst nightmare: two small market teams filled with non flashy players who are poised to dominate the league for the next 5-6 years.
I think this is the 2nd combined winning pct matchup in the history of the league. So a big game.

Cavs win. Great game with play-off atmosphere. Teams played good defense and there were relatively few three point shots. Good basketball.

It’s early January. Let’s see where they are in the spring. Just don’t forget to save room for me on the bandwagon.

As someone who grew up watching Cleveland teams - Ohio really - I'll be back in June to ask "what went wrong?". I hope not for you Cavs fans, but I have seen the football pulled away from Charlie Brown too many times.

You're not really going out on the limb predicting the Cavs don't win it all this year. They're one of 3 dominant teams in the league. Each probably has a 1 in 4 chance to win it all, then maybe the "Field" option is 1 in 4. But with their 4 best players being 28, 26, 24, and 23, they are well positioned to contend for the next 5-6 seasons. I'd be willing they win at least one title within the next half dozen seasons.
Hightop has been one of the biggest bashers here of today's NBA. But I will give him credit for providing an honest assessment of what he watched last night. That was two teams playing basketball the right way, at a VERY high level. When your top player goes 3-16 against a team as good as OKC, that says a lot about how good this Cavalier team is. They're legit.

I didn't know anything about the game and would not have watched if you had not posted about it yesterday. I did turn it on not expecting much and rarely watch NBA anymore because the product is usually not that good. Last night's game was almost a throw back to another era because it wasn't just guys going one on one every possession or jacking up 3's. You felt both teams had a lot at stake and played like it. Unfortunately it was a rarity. I might watch more Cleveland games now.

Great teams tend to beats .500 and below teams more time than they lose. Hawks swept the Cavs this season. The Cavs have not won anything this season but regular season games. As I stated in my OP I hope the Cavs don't let the fans down again. History is on my side.
Looking at the NBA Standings 23 teams are 4 games over .500 or less. This tells OK City and the Cavs have great records against garbage teams. Minus the Celtics the rest of the league sucks. If there is a year the Cavs can win it this is it.
