This has been a big issue in the election polling as men feel left out and specially black males.

Not to derail the thread, but I actually thought Barbie was pretty anti-feminist and pro-men, although I think the opposite was supposed to be the case. The Barbies are clearly the villains of the movie.

Hmm you did not mention something like "I took my kids to see Barbie and I liked the movie"??  Tell us more about why you went to see the Barbie Movie?? Big Grin Big Grin

Well, he either has a thing for Barbie, or, a thing for Ken..........

Sen. John Fetterman unloads on squatters, says they have 'no rights': 'I am not woke'
Fetterman told the New York Post, 'I am not woke'

Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., sounded off on squatters during a recent interview, questioning how they had a right to occupy another person's home as squatting continues to take a toll on homeowners across the U.S.

During an interview with the New York Post, published on Saturday, Fetterman said squatters have "no rights."

"Squatters have no rights," Fetterman said. "How can you even pretend that this is anything other than you’re just breaking the law?"
Fetterman also told the Post, "I am not woke."

"It’s wild, that if you go away on a long trip, for 30 days, and someone breaks into your home and suddenly they have rights," he said. "This is crazy. Like if somebody stole your car, and then they held it for 30 days, then somehow you now have some rights?"

Fetterman also called for a smarter, more aggressive crime policy, and spoke out against the man who allegedly shot NYPD Officer Jonathan Diller. The alleged murderer had several prior arrests.

"If you have those kinds of established records, it doesn’t serve any greater goal to allow people that are offending, offending, offending and allow them to not be held accountable," Fetterman said.

The Pennsylvania senator has also remained a strong supporter of Israel, despite the pushback from his own party.

"It’s reasonable if you want to criticize, but to call for effectively… like a regime change, I disagree," Fetterman told the Post, in reference to Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., and his comments on the Israeli government. "I didn’t agree because Israel is a democracy, it is our key special ally. And our nation wouldn’t appreciate any kind of foreign input. So why should we do that for Israel?"

Schumer called on Israel to elect a new prime minister so that they could move forward with a two-state solution for Israel and the Palestinians, Fox News Digital previously reported.

The majority leader said he believed that "Prime Minister Netanyahu has lost his way by allowing his political survival to take the precedence over the best interests of Israel."

Fetterman, who is a strong supporter of President Biden, warned the election between him and Donald Trump would be very close in his home state – but predicted the president would still end up winning.

"It’s going to be very close. Trump is going to be incredibly strong in Pennsylvania," Fetterman said.

Also, when Trump claims that black men like him b/c they can relate to his persecution/mug shot, he isn’t wrong.

I sure hope so, I see black people as my fellow Americans and I hope that they will see me in the same light

The below listed are the steps in the right direction.

So NPR editor not only admits they always lean to the left but he goes so far as to say, " We lost our way when our mission became to derail Trump and his presidency"   He cited specific examples of this.

Also Andrew McCane admitted to misusing FISA to spy on Trump campaign people specifically Carter Paige.

Well well well.   My bigger concern here is "why are they changing their tunes suddenly"?  Is the fix in or something else.

The below listed is a step in the wrong direction.

Some contract person with MSNBC had a panel of uncommitted voters who basically said "they are not voting for Joe Biden"  The big issue was the economy and Biden being oblivious to the struggles of the people.

Morning Jow to their credit actually allowed this discussed on their show.  They did have James Clyburgh who was most responsible for giving us Biden and he said basically, "don't believe your lying bank accounts, the food prices and your increasing debt, you are doing well (,y paraphrasing of course)".  It is a messaging issue , according to Clyburgh.  The  host of morning Joe did not  challenge this and the ditz even shook her head in agreement.

University of North Carolina committee scraps DEI goals, roles in dramatic policy shift
UNC may follow Florida's lead by eliminating its DEI policies and positions

Another state university system is moving to eliminate diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) requirements and roles from its campuses, as part of a growing backlash to DEI ideology in schools across the country.

The University of North Carolina (UNC) board of governors committee voted in less than four minutes on Wednesday to repeal and replace the system's existing diversity and inclusion policy and replace it with a different policy, The Associated Press reported.

Seventeen college campuses within the UNC system could be affected by the decision.

The proposed policy indicates that DEI roles held by senior administration officials would be eliminated, as they also have been at state universities in Florida and Texas.

Under the old policy, each school must have senior-level officials as its System Office D&I Liaison, Institutional D&I Officer, and an Institutional Inclusion Executive. These roles may go to the same person or be assigned separately. However, these roles are not included under the new policy that was voted on Wednesday.

While maintaining UNC's commitment to nondiscrimination, the new policy emphasizes maintaining "academic freedom," "institutional neutrality," "free speech and expression," and "equality of all persons and viewpoints."

The new proposed policy states each school must give a report by September 1 certifying that it has fully complied "with the University’s commitment to institutional neutrality and nondiscrimination required by law and this policy and shall describe in substance the actions taken to achieve compliance."

"The chancellors’ certifications shall also include a report on reductions in force and spending, along with changes to job titles and position descriptions, undertaken as a result of implementing this policy and how those savings achieved from these actions can be redirected to initiatives related to student success and well-being," it continues.

The new policy will now go before the Republican-majority board of governors in May. If approved, the school's DEI policy could be fully repealed.

The university has already taken steps to cut DEI from its campuses.

Fox News Digital previously reported that the school voted to ban DEI statements and compelled speech from admission, hiring, promotion and tenure in February.

If the policy is fully repealed, UNC will follow the lead of Texas and Florida, where DEI positions were slashed from public universities to comply with state laws.

In March, the University of Florida fired all employees and administrative appointments for its DEI offices.

Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who championed eliminating DEI from public institutions in his state, said he hoped others would follow Florida's example.

"DEI is toxic and has no place in our public universities. I’m glad that Florida was the first state to eliminate DEI and I hope more states follow suit," DeSantis said.

Elite university eliminates DEI hiring requirement: 'They don't work'
MIT scraps diversity statement from faculty hiring process

The Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) became the first elite institution to scrap diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) statements from its faculty hiring process.

On Sunday, the school confirmed to UnHerd that it was removing a requirement that mandated all prospective faculty submit a diversity, equity and inclusion statement during the hiring process. A university spokesperson told Fox News Digital that "requests for a statement on diversity will no longer be part of applications for any faculty positions at MIT" and added that the decision was made by the school’s president, Sally Kornbluth, with the support of the Provost, Chancellor, and all six academic deans.

"My goals are to tap into the full scope of human talent, to bring the very best to MIT, and to make sure they thrive once here," Kornbluth said. "We can build an inclusive environment in many ways, but compelled statements impinge on freedom of expression, and they don’t work."

Prior to the change, MIT required candidates applying for faculty positions to submit a statement that "demonstrates knowledge of challenges related to diversity, equity, and inclusion" as well as outlining their "track record of working with diverse groups of people" and how they plan to advance DEI in their position at the school, according to MIT’s Communication Lab.

A 2023 survey conducted by freedom of speech advocacy group the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE) found that "large portions of MIT faculty and students are afraid to express their views in various academic settings."

Advocates for free speech and academic freedom have continuously spoken out against requiring DEI statements in university hiring, a practice that many higher education institutions have adopted since the early 2010s.

FIRE previously warned that diversity statement requirements "function as ideological litmus tests" that "threaten employment or advancement of opportunities for faculty who dissent from prevailing thought on DEI."

Last month, a Harvard Law School professor penned a column in the Harvard Crimson urging the Ivy League to eliminate its mandatory DEI statements, arguing that they force faculty and staff to "toe a political line."

"I am a scholar on the left committed to struggles for social justice," Randall L. Kennedy wrote. "The realities surrounding mandatory DEI statements, however, make me wince. The practice of demanding them ought to be abandoned, both at Harvard and beyond."

Tractor Supply no longer going woke, eliminates DEI goals
Tractor Supply said it has 'heard from customers that we have disappointed them'

Tractor Supply is getting rid of several initiatives that some social media users and customers have slammed as "woke" in recent weeks.

The farming supplies retailer, which is headquartered in Tennessee, on Thursday said it "will ensure our activities and giving tie directly to our business" moving forward.

Tractor Supply said it will cease sponsorship of "nonbusiness activities" such as Pride festivals and voting campaigns, with intentions to focus more on "rural America priorities."

Agricultural education, veterans and animal welfare were among the causes it identified.

The company said it will drop diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) goals it had previously set for itself. DEI positions at Tractor Supply will also get axed, according to the company. It will

Additionally, the farming supplies retailer plans to prioritize land and water conservation initiatives, scuttling aims of curbing carbon emissions by 50% by 2030 and reaching net-zero by the decade after that.

"We work hard to live up to our mission and values every day and represent the values of the communities and customers we serve," Tractor Supply said in its statement. "We have heard from customers that we have disappointed them. We have taken this feedback to heart."

Some pages on Tractor Supply’s website related to its carbon emissions reduction and DEI efforts also redirected Friday to a photo of a Tractor Supply store.

Tractor Supply has been receiving heat from political activist Robby Starbuck and others about "woke" initiatives in place at the company. He urged Tractor Supply customers earlier in the month to spend their money elsewhere "until Tractor Supply makes REAL changes."

Shares of Tractor Supply have fallen about 3% in the past month. Since Friday’s opening bell, the stock price has gone up over 2%.

The company last reported quarterly financial results in late April.

Ford walks back 'woke' DEI policies, joining growing list of US companies
Ford says it will no longer participate in the LGBT-focused Human Rights Campaign Corporate Equality Index

Ford Motor Company is backing away from some of its diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives, becoming the latest American firm to pump the brakes on "woke" policies this year and joining the likes of John Deere, Lowe's and Tractor Supply.

Anti-woke activist and filmmaker Robby Starbuck, who has been leading a campaign exposing major corporations' woke policies, reported on X on Wednesday that he was in the middle of an investigation of Ford when the company sent him documentation indicating that it had made some changes.
