For those that love a good tender steak fairly often, but the cost is prohibitive......I've been grabbing the country ribs at Aldi, about $5 a pound boneless......and they are a great substitute for much less than you'd pay for a prime rib or higher cut. Delicious, season the same, cook about the same timeframe on the grill.
Beef ribs I take it?

Never had beef country ribs...had pork but never beef!

Like Walt, I have only had pork ribs (that I can remember). I may have to try this one time.

My wife bought me a new cast iron skillet for Christmas last year. Needless to say, I have already gotten plenty of use with it. Last night, made some fried chicken in it. Came out with a golden brown crust, juicy and tender, simply delicious.

my wife is working from home moving forward, and yesterday she made a nice pot roast in the crock pot, with potatoes, carrots, and onions. Delicious!
I am working from home tomorrow, and plan on smoking a turkey.

yummmmmm....pot roast........think we will have one of those this weekend.
Last Sunday we did a corned beef brisket in the crockpot. Now there's some good eating, at a low price. Got my briskets for $2.99 a pound.

same here. I wish I knew the key to success on these. I have another we bought on deal. outside throwing in veggies and seasoning pack that came in it, It is in the crock.  I have inconsistent results. One year great, another ho hum. The second one is a different brand so hope it is the meat, mot prep method.

Sucks that in Ohio 'choice' brisket price on sale is 7.99-8.99 lb.

Smoked a whole chicken yesterday. Rubbed it down with olive oil and a spice mix, then did the same under the skin on the breasts and thighs. Injected with apple cider. Smoked using bourbon barrel chips (Jack Daniels). Came out juicy and flavorful as any I have smoked int he past. Will be repeating this recipe in the near future.
Grilling burgers tonight on the charcoal Weber, and some Bahama Mamma's from Schmidt's.

Grilling burgers tonight on the charcoal Weber, and some Bahama Mamma's from Schmidt's. Like you my pellet smoker has been in high gear for the past few weeks. The last thing I smoked were burgers. They take more time than grilling but I don't think that I'll ever go back to grilling burgers (unless I want them grilled) again. smoked some beef ribs this past weekend, man they were good.
